I know they gave 28 up Friday but keep in mind 14 was after clock started running and JV was in. Trigg was throwing deep on the JV and still had most of their skilled position players in the game in the 4th.

JC, I think the predictions may be high because you can't run on South. That means you have to pass. Passing games are longer than run based games because of all the stoppages in play. Maybe you get more opportunities in a game like that. I think this is what PT has to do. This should allow their smaller OLine to have a chance. I still don't think PT wins, but I think they can keep it close with strong pass game to their talented skill guys.

BTW, just looked at the stats filed on KHSAA. Odd to see that Rogers is throwing more with this PT than any of the past teams he had at Warren Central.

 

I'm not sure what kind of qb's he had at WC (I'm sure they were pretty decent players), but Dunnigan is a pretty darn good player. I've been pretty impressed with his play for a couple years now. I'm not saying he is better than anybody he had there, just think it might explain the difference in stats.

I agree with that except that if South's front get the preasure that its been getting all year will make for a low scoring game. If its true that the PT line is small then they will have their hands full with South's front and quickness all night long and possibly make for a low scoring quick offensive game like last year's and turn into another defensive struggle.

 

IMO if PT scores more than 14 on the first team defense then South could be in trouble.

He had a #1 Starting Pitcher who started at 3rd base when not pitching in Michael Bush.

 

Bush also had two, maybe three D1 players on offense to throw to.

I think South will be to much for the Blue Tornado. Honestly they have the best defense I have seen in 3a in a long time. They are pressure addicts...swarming the backfield Allowing no or little time for decisions. Should be a really good low scoring game. If pt scores 28 they win. I don think they can on this defense though. South will have to settle the penalties down and hold onto the football.

When you compare equal opponents look at Tilghman's games with Henderson Co, Fort Campbell, Trigg, Webster, Monroe, Adair. Equal opponents, equal results. And just for good measure throw in the fact that Henderson County laid a major butt kicking on Owensboro a couple of weeks ago.

I am not sure it happens... but would not be one bit surprised if for all the talk of "changing of the guard" and "new blood" that we didn't see PT vs. Central and Belfry vs. Bourbon County in the Semi's... essentially the same 4 teams who have made themselves fixtures there it seems.

ATLCat, one thing is for sure, we don't decide the outcome here, the teams will on the field.

PT is playing waaaaaayyyy better ball than they were earlier, but they are the youngest, smallest and talent-lightest team I think I have ever seen play there. They have the ability to do some very good things, but the key will be is IF they can control the line of scrimmage.

I believe SW can score on them, but if PT has time to work they will score as well.

Either way it turns out, I believe we will see a good game tonight, and I believe you will see a much improved PT program in years to come.
