If I was at 75% I'm playing or attempting to play. Is anyone ever really 100%? My shoulders pop out of place when I play pick up basketball games. I pop it back in and don't come off the court. Too easy to go get another cat to replace them. Plus, they can't afford the loss of pay. It's mind-boggling to compare an everyday schmo construction worker/sales rep/CPA to a professional athlete. The only problem is DRose should have known how fans would lose their minds and spend ZERO time thinking about what he said. I agree! That is my point. Construction workers can't save their body and have to go to work for minimal pay in comparison to what he gets paid. He gets to play a game for a living and make in one year what many people hope to make in a lifetime and he has the nerve to say he wants to save his body???? Not smart at all and very discouraging for fans, owners, and teammates. As a former athlete, i just cant understand saving your body. I played 2 games in college lefthanded with a cast on my shooting hand and for the 3rd and final game, i cut the cast off and lied to my coach that i had been cleared.

November 15, 201411 yr He plays a game for a living and makes millions doing it. They were just dumb comments by Rose. He has to know or his people have to know it wasn't going to look good. I respect the honesty but if it's to tough for you quit.

They are both professional, all but in different professions. Rose is being paid a LOT of money to do EXACTLY what he doesn't want to do...put his body on the line and play night in and night out when he isn't 100%. Almost no one is 100% during the professional sports season. But many are paid millions to go out and preform when they are only at 75%. And we are talking basketball here. Maybe after a 12 year NBA career he has some sore knees he has to deal with after banking millions and can pretty much live in the lap of luxury the rest of his life. I see construction workers in their 40's every day who look and move like they are in their 60's, but they are out there doing what the need to do. To me Rose just proved he is not the teammate he needs to be and I start shopping him (if possible under the cap) for some picks or to fill a need. Someone will overpay for him, and then he's their problem.
