Camels return 4 starters from last year's regional championship team.

Projected Starters:

5'11" PG Trent McGovney - floor general. His shooting has improved tremendously and will benefit a ton from kickouts.

5'10" SG Blake Losey - when he is hot, watch out. Camels will need him to be a consistent scorer and senior leader.

6'2" SF Diondre Jackson - silky smooth and finishes well at the rim. All-region player.

6'2" PF Jake Franzen - Enforcer. Camels need him to stay out of foul trouble.

6'9" C Matt Wilson - kid has exploded after performance at Rupp in March. All-region player who will average double-double this year.

Key Bench Players: Cole Hegyi, Jordan Day, Craig Neltner

The Camels are the favorites to win the 10th. The key to their success will be leadership and consistent scoring outside of Jackson and Wilson.

I expect the Camels to make a nice run at Rupp this year. They are a top 10 team in the state. :ylsuper:

I agree. Camels will be tough this year.

Have to resepctfully disagree with you there.

Top 20. Yes. Top 10. No.

Afi always has his team winning the district, region and a top 10 in the state. He is a true Camel fan! :thumb:

His assessment is pretty much spot on. (except for the top 10 comment). the key factors for success for the Camels will be keeping Jackson under control and making sure Franzen shows up every game. I thought he was a liability in the regional games last year. He is going to have a lot of opportunities to succeed this year with a lot of double teaming on Wilson.

They will be a fun team to watch. Bench play could be a factor as well. They always seem to have someone that steps up when needed.

I can see Cole Hegyi getting a lot of minutes. Plays hard on both ends and can put the ball in the hole.

I do consistently pick my Camels to win the district sometimes the region. I have never stated they are a top 10 team until this year. This is their year to shine.

What is their schedule like? Will it provide the games that shows they are a top 10 team?

I agree they should shine this year and get back to Rupp but top 10 in the state?

They are the 4th best team in NKY and IMO neither Holmes or Covcath are top 10 statewide RIGHT NOW.

Hopefully you end up being right though. Knowing Dre and Matt personally, they are both great kids and this group deserves everything that comes their way.

This is where you and I disagree. I am not sure there is a NKY team better than the Camels.
