NCC 47 Trimble Cty 12

This is a 1 vs 4 game....right? Not even close on the score. Running clock as some point. Smith will break multiple long runs for TD.

 

This is what I love about football, everybody expects the top dog to win the game. Well I don't believe Trimble County can out run NCC, I don't believe that they are bigger than NCC, I don't believe they can out muscle NCC, and I definitely know that Trimble County doesn't have a rich history of football like NCC. The one thing that Trimble County does have is heart. The program was shutdown for a few years, but in 1996 Trimble County had football once again, and they have received some beat downs from teams like NCC. But the only advantage that I think TC has over NCC is the will to never quit and to never back down.

 

Now today I went over to the County Park to watch football practice, and I saw those boys condition hard for 30 minutes running hills, flipping tires and knock the living day-lights out of each other. They continued on with practice to special teams, and then to offense, and it went very smoothly. Finally, the Raiders decided to scrimmage each other in a Blue and Gold scrimmage, and they were living it up, because for the 1st time in 6 years the Raiders are in the playoffs. The only problem is they have to face one of the best teams in the NKY. Well that's fine by me because these men finally breathed life into Trimble County when they took on arch rival Carroll County. That game came all the way down to final seconds and that crowd was on their feet cheering for the Raiders to win, largest crowd in Trimble County history, and unfortunately that game came down to judgment call by the referee. It was a heartbreaker, but the fans of Trimble County were still cheering because they found something to believe in for the next several years.

 

Now enough rambling about the past, I believe with every ounce in my body that the Trimble County Raiders are going to put up a fight against the mighty NCC. Win or lose, I am proud to be Raider! Calling for the upset on Friday Night against NCC. Hope its a great game that everyone will talk about for the next 15 years!

I'm not sure if you have seen NCC play this year or have seen the schedule they played outside of their district, but I believe the statement you made about TC having an advantage over them for never quitting or backing down is wrong. NCC doesn't back down from anybody And their schedule has proven that yr after after. They don't quit, they've been beaten down physically this yr but quitting was never an option for them.

If somehow Trimble beats NCC Friday, they won't be talking about it for just 15 years but FOR-EV-ER

 

I really don't know if the players and coaching staff at Trimble have played against a team who has as much team speed as NCC. Granted this is probably one of the slower teams NCC has had in years but they still have skill players who are extremely quick. I'm assuming TC has played against some speedy skill players in their schedule, but I think I'll give the edge to NCC. As I stated earlier, this game will get out of hand fast. I'm not taking a cheap shot at TC, its just reality.

I do admire your passion and support of your beloved Raiders. I can appreciate that they are a program that has come from being non-existent to making the playoffs. However, this game is very likely to be ugly, early.

 

Do you expect Trimble to bring a good crowd with them? NCC typically plays at Newport stadium but is not able because the Wildcats also host a home game. With this being played at Holmes, I anticipate a smaller than normal crowd. Safe travels to all coming and I hope both teams stay healthy.

You better have road graders to run out of the wishbone and power-I as much as much as they do. #75 and #63 are really big, but they just don't have the quickness necessary to create problems for NewCath. They don't tackle well, and they lack speed. I will say that they are not afraid to hit. However, this is not going to end well.

I get why teams would run the wishbone. What I don't get is WHY teams run the wishbone w/out the weapons for it. I like the FB though. He runs hard.

I find it refreshing that a 4 seed with a bad record is actually excited to be in the playoffs. Kudos to them. Hope they come out all fired up and ready to shock the world. Don't think it will happen but makes for a better game than a team looking for a running clock. Great for whoever come out to watch this one.

 

Unfortunately their running game sort of plays into NCC's strength on defense. But with the nasty weather maybe it will be better than checking it all over the place. And I know the Carroll Co game came down to the end with Carroll Co winning but geez Carroll Co followed up that win by losing to a 17 player Dayton squad who got beat 62-0 the week before.

 

But hey I'm sure Trimble Co will give it everything they got.

I wanted to share this with you all because it touched my heart when I heard it the first time. This man today walks up to me and says " Are you going to watch Trimble County tomorrow night?" and I replied to the man "Hell yeah." Over the course of the conversation he began to tell me that his son wanted to play football next season. His dad ask him why and he said "I want to be like the Raiders who took on Carroll Co., and all of my friends do to. I want to play for Coach Franklin and go to the playoffs like the Raiders."

 

After he told me that I felt proud to be a Raider, one game has inspired many to join in the game we love most of all. No matters what happens tomorrow night, this class has accomplished more than any of the other class before them. They have built the foundation of a program, and hopefully one day it will be just as good as NCC.

 

Looking forward to this battle tomorrow night, and if NCC wins who care's, they're suppose to win, but if Trimble County does the impossible and pulls off the upset, then I could see a very bright future for Raider Football.

Just wanted to make sure that everyone knew that the game actually starts at 7:00pm not 7:30pm. Not sure if someone had already posted that, but It's been advertised as 7:30, but the game will start @ 7:00pm.
