Oldtimebaseball84 Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Anyone else make it? All 4 candidates are here.......that is a good start.:popcorn:
Oldtimebaseball84 Posted October 16, 2014 Author Posted October 16, 2014 Intros over........only one candidate needed HER notes to tell us about herself.......and had to read it though Mayor has decided to skip intro and info about himself and straight to issues. Mr Brown was very eloquent and gave an intro and then why he was running. Mr Callery seemed to explain how and why he chose his house more than anything else
Flotsam Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 The "I don't want Martin vote splits". He get re-elected.
Oldtimebaseball84 Posted October 16, 2014 Author Posted October 16, 2014 Question 2 about finances and control...... Brown takes some shots at the Mayor, but also clearly defines how he would affect change and implement controls. Martin answers Browns shots, but then reads his answers and even seems to lose his place ...... Callery gives some of the same points , finance committee , etc and names the current leaders of the committee as resourcs. M-Isenhour mentions again that she was a realtor and that a contract should be in place with the lawyer and she thinks the line item budget is a good idea, but would change it if the citizens want her to...
Oldtimebaseball84 Posted October 16, 2014 Author Posted October 16, 2014 The "I don't want Martin vote splits". He get re-elected. Quite possibly........could become mayor with only 28% of the vote.
Oldtimebaseball84 Posted October 17, 2014 Author Posted October 17, 2014 All 4 say no to joining the NKY Regional Ethics Board.
Oldtimebaseball84 Posted October 17, 2014 Author Posted October 17, 2014 Roads...... Callery wants to implement a bond issue to fund road repair. Mayor read his pre written answer and addressed issues from mr brown about his statement about 2 mill being applied to roads........ Isenhour wants to check into the sub contractors used in the crescent springs public works. Brown stated roads were in disrepair and that lack of maintenance the past 4 years has cost us more money.....
Oldtimebaseball84 Posted October 17, 2014 Author Posted October 17, 2014 Question from the audience to Isenhour....."you admitted in a council mtg that you do not even know how to read a budget, how do you expect to manage a city without this knowledge" Answer.......I probably did say this......but that was early in my council experience......... Fyi......she has been on council for 2 years and now running for mayor.
Oldtimebaseball84 Posted October 17, 2014 Author Posted October 17, 2014 Way too tiring.......have to stop....... Quick summary IMHO Callery......great experience but an outsider. Has ideas but may be considered too unattached. Isenhour...heart is in the right place but not articulate or capable Brown......connected and feels he has the ability. Wants to better the city and right the wrongs. Track record with fixing the civic club. Martin......trying to explain why he has done what he has done the past 4 years but isn't perhaps as articulate as he needs to be to accomplish it.......
LIPTON BASH Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 With all the corruption and trouble Villa Hills had had they would be insane not to elect Callery. He was a successful mayor in NKY's largest city. There really isn't a choice match resumes side by side and accomplishments. Callery is an obvious choice for a city who's government has become a little bit of a laughing stock.
