Kentucky Class 3A Football Rankings for 10-13

Featured Replies

Only beat Wayne 14 to 7. Don't think they would.

So you don't think Corbin cannot hang within 3+ TD's of Belfry as well?

Corbin needed every inch to beat Southwestern...Belfry had it locked in cruise control all night and took a knee inside the 10 to avoid running up the score after having essentially 14 more points taken off the board on penalties.

Early season scores can give us an indication of what might happen, but rarely do they paint the whole picture.

I think Garrard could beat Corbin and Bell.

Garrard would lose to Corbin or Bell by 3 Tds.

Garrard barely beat Wayne. Both Corbin and Bell handled them.

1. Belfry

2. Corbin

3. South Warren

4. Bell Co.

5. Central

6. Russell

7. Garrard Co.

8. Paducah Tighlman

9. Bourbon Co.

10. Henry Co.

Maybe. But much has changed in the Garrard County offense since the Wayne game.

Same question to you as above.

If early season margin of victory is the end all be all then Corbin better be happy playing for a regional title because they stand no chance against Belfry looking at the Southwestern score.

Haven't you guys figured it out yet...even comparing common opponents is not an accurate way to compare teams. If coulda woulda shoulda was true as often as you guys throw it around, then we'd have a state title or two here in Lewis County. I know it's for entertainment purposes and whatnot, but if you think you can get a good read on a team based on how they played a common opponent of yours, then you are in for a treat.

Agreed, especially if the games were several weeks apart. If Team A beats Team B this week and Team B beats Team C next week, then you can reasonably assume Team A would beat Team C. But if you are comparing scores from Weeks 1, 6, and 9, then it really makes it difficult.

Thats the point I was making.

It's easy to say "They can't beat m team because look at this score".. but when the same logic is flipped on them they sing a different tune. Common scores can give a gauge into how good a team is, but it doesn't paint a complete picture as to what would happen if they play soemone else with a different style.

In this case in particular, I know from past experience not to scoreboard watch Garrard and expect that to tell the tale. In 2011 Garrard had early season games against Danville, Lincoln County, Clay County, and Bourbon County that led me to believe they were simply an overachieving team that Belfry would steamroll.

I was wrong!

Garrard may very well have been the 3rd best 3A team in KY that year and were every bit as good as Belfry.

This is why we let the young men play the game's men! Tho all your debating is intertaing to say the least. And all good point's

Henry Co. Has #1 passing and rushing defense in the whole state, they're top 5 and should prove that by beating #3 Central this Friday night. Must watch game in 3a

Maybe so. But the six teams Henry County has beat are 9-34 and the only team they lost to was a 1A school that put 34 points on that defense. Henry may well beat Central on Friday night, but until then, ranking them in the Top 5 is quite a stretch.

Corbin is in the western portion of the bracket, so if they were to meet Belfry, it would be in the finals. I would take that.:lol2:

Not sure if any of them can play with Belfry.

I don't have to compare scores to believe that.

To be honest 8-15 could easily interchange. There are probably 10 teams below Henry that can beat them.

Henry county stats are messed up that is last weeks game stats against Larue County. Check the Riherds Stats for game by game and they did not start reporting stats on defense till last week. There is no defensive stats game by game till last week.

You very well might be right, thank you. But their offense is still putting up 40.7 points per game while only giving up 12.7 ppg
