October 1, 201412 yr If admission is free, go ahead and pay to park. Why skimp on already good deal? Parking is $15.00 and there are plenty of other things to spend money on once your in. The shows and the children's area cost.
October 1, 201412 yr I was just talking with someone yesterday that highly recommended Grant's Farm. It's where the Clydesdales are raised and supposed to be very cool. It's very nice to go to. Parking is the only cost. Last time I went it was $8 to park. I'm sure it is a little higher now.
October 1, 201412 yr Is that the one underneath the Arch? If so it is pretty cool. If not I'd like to check it out. Personally I love St. Louis, one of my favorite cities. No, it's several blocks west of the river. Really cool place. City Museum
October 1, 201412 yr Fancy seeing this thread. I will be in St. Louis on business this weekend. I've been many times before and I only have one day (Saturday).
October 1, 201412 yr Years ago we took a trip to St. Louis to see the Cardinals play the Braves. If the Cardinals are still in the post-season maybe you could take in a game. We also went to the top of the Arch---in what can be described as a space capsule. I assume those rides are still being offered. A friend of mine who went to college in Kansas City said that St. Louis is the westernmost Eastern city and Kansas City is the easternmost Western city in the U.S. I believe he said he read that observation from the sportswriter Jim Murray.
October 2, 201412 yr If you find yourself in a redeveloping and VERY old neighborhood south of downtown near the Soulard Market, have a meal at Bogart's BBQ. Unreal. The meat is of course delicious but the sides are magnificent. Get the potato salad and the pork rinds. Get there early. They start to run out during the dinner rush.
