LongTimeReader Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Final. With about a 1:30 left in the game X faced a 4th and 5 deep in their own territory and were unable to convert. T took over and scored to go up by 2 scores.

T took over and scored to go up by 2 scores. The Tigers gave a great effort. Harper did throw one interception. The muffed punt led to the St X field goal. I think X may have had two penalties called on 'em. I will be happy with the same result on Thursday!
Tiger2023 Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 It was good game to watch; as it is in most T-X games the mobile QB and stretch running game by Trinity is the difference. Trinity had better athletes as expected but I don't understand why X ran 0 running plays in the second half until late..... questionable play calling when we got turn over on T 30yd line.... Proud of Tigers effort. Crowd seemed small????

The running game set the tone and having a mobile QB the Rocks could take advantage of that. We all thought the play calling by X was less than imaginative -- especially on the 4th down pass play at the end of the game. Thought they could have done more with the athletes they have. Good luck to both the rest of the season.
UncleTux Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Yes...a win is a win and hope for a more entertaining game on Friday. Do they keep stats and put them out there anywhere? Thought Osborne ran well. Look forward to the Freshman game on Thursday at 5:30 pm at Trinity. Go Rocks!

Proud of Tigers effort. Crowd seemed small???? One thing that has stood out to me over the last few years is St. X offense does not put pressure on a good defense. Traditionally, X can over power many teams on the freshmen and JV level, but when they the likes of T and Moeller on those levels their offense is pretty easy to defend. The issue with their offense is they want to be a pro style team, the problem is that they don't have pro players. They have to do something on offense that is going to cause a good team problems, and they just don't do that. The same arguement could be said for the varisty level as well. But I heard the X defense played well. Just not much going on the offensive side of the ball.
BTI Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 St Xavier was missing three Sophomores who would have significantly impacted the game. Desmond Ridder starting QB for JV did not play - injured Blake Roshkowski WR - did not play, will be playing Friday night. His punt/kick returns were missed. Would have been best ST X receiver on the field had he played Max Willenger DE - would have been best DE on the field had he played - will play this Friday night Interested to know if Trinity had any impact Sophomores who did not play

BTI Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Good call by Coach Woolford in not playing Blake Roshkowski and Max Willenger in the JV game save them for the Varsity victory Looks like St Xavier is in good shape for the next couple of years against Trinity. CSAA players gravitating to St Xavier seems to be paying dividends

Trinity would not be able to field a squad without the CSAA, this is a silly comment, not sure what you are getting at.
