Is this the same Chris Adkins that helped coach baseball at both Somerset and Pulaski, off and on, over the years?

Yep, same one. We'll see how he does.

I think that he will do fine, almost a perfect fit in my opinion. He seems to be well liked by most of the girls and has a great knowledge of basketball (esp. defense).

He does know defense. Hopefully we will see more of a zone this year that we did last year!:thumb:

I have a different opinion. Weak on fundamentals, limited knowledge about offense, too much yelling and screaming(not enough teaching).

as of right now he doesnt know if the school is going to hire his want to be assistants. he told the girls this today at an after school meeting.

I would bet that he will do much better than Coach Brown. I like Coach Brown as a person, I think he's a great guy. However, I dont think that he was a good fit at Somerset. I don't know why but the girls just didnt respect the man.

He may do a great job there, but can he beat Southwestern and Pulaski? He will be up against two good coaches for county bragging rights. Rice being #1 and Hurt being a close second.

If I was a teenager, I would have more respect for Jim Brown than I would for Chris Adkins. Matter of fact, I do have more respect for Jim than I do the other one.

sounds to me like we have got a lot of parents coaching down there in somerset and that is probably way more of a problem than who their coach was.

Absolutely correct!!! One parent went to the Supt., got Coach Brown fired because of playing time with his daughter, and this is the thread you have now. Supt. didn't even know that SHS's two best players were out for half to three-fourths of the year and this was the main reason for them only winning nine games. Supt. really kept up with the girl's program, didn't he?
