September 19, 201412 yr Hopefully this won't be riddled with those who hate Springsteen...but here goes. At the risk of posting a B-Ball-Fan-esque post, I'm working from home today and have been listening to my Walkman while I work all day. I've always said Born to Run was my absolute, all-time favorite Springsteen song. But I've been listening to a heavy, heavy rotation the last few weeks, and there are a few songs giving BTR a serious run for bumping it out of number 1. Here they are in no particular order, and why: Human Touch-seriously can relate to this. Who hasn't felt alone and just needed to feel like they were connected? Lucky Town-Just an absolute great song all around. Death to My Hometown-This may be the most serious contender for #1. First, that music is absolutely soul stirring. The words are harsh, the message angry, and it gets my blood pumping like no other. Land of Hopes and Dreams-On the flip side of Death to My Hometown, a song filled with positivity and hope. Badlands-An oldie but goodie, I never really appreciated this song enough in the past. After listening to it multiple times over the last few weeks, I have waffled with bumping BTR for it several times. Shackled and Drawn-Reminds me of songs my dad and uncles sang when I was young. What are your favorites? If you could create an album of just your favorites, what would you include? (Don't get me started on my Bob Marley musings. :lol2:) Edited September 19, 201412 yr by rockmom
September 19, 201412 yr That's an impossible question. :lol2: I can't settle on a favorite album let alone a favorite song. I will say that I had ignored the "Lucky Town" record until just recently. I had assumed it was a castoff record from his 90s phase and I was mistaken. It's very good.

I have to say, As an ENTIRE album, Wrecking Ball is now my solid favorite. Side Note-I'm seriously, seriously disappointed i haven't been able to find a live version of 10th Avenue Freeze Out to download.

I've only be searching the Play store, so I just did a google search for it and found it. I wish I could have gotten the Madison Ave version, but it was available only by buying the full album. Which I may do later anyway...but right now I'll try the '77 version. Thank you though!

September 19, 201412 yr I am a huge Bruce fan. I think my favorite is "The River". I love everything about that song. Everything he did from 75 through 84 was gold. It's been hit or miss since then.

Some of my favorites: The River Highway Patrolman My Hometown Streets of Philadelphia Murder Incorporated Bruce is among my favorite singer/songwriters alongside the likes of Petty, Neil Young, Eddie Vedder, Bob Dylan. Some of you may not be familiar with Highway Patrolman. If not, youtube it and drink in the lyrics.......a truly beautiful song.
