September 16, 201412 yr I think the Eagles have looked better than the Cardinals. Not sold on the Cardinals anymore than the Bills. Saints and Colts are the best 0-2 teams IMO.

Won on the road with backup QB. Eagles - Unbelievable RB's, good QB, and ok receivers; defense below average. Bills - Great running game, solid defense. Texans - Played no one any good and do you really believe in Fitz?
September 17, 201412 yr I think so. Colts have been victims of their schedule so far, but their line play has been rough too. I think Luck is the real deal, but he can't do it all. Clots have a terrible D line. Very terrible D line. Seem's funny in a way but I really could see the Jags pull one out this week. Hopefully. You take out Luck and this team is awful. Good news is that their front office will be masked by Luck his entire time there. Their front office is IMO awful. Then again the Clots are a rival therefore I dislike them. Like me and Joker said the AFCS is wide open this year.
September 17, 201412 yr Why get Bortles killed before the line can protect him? Keep him sitting until they can protect him a little bit. I believe they planned on maybe having him sit a year and that might be best. It looks like this team is going nowhere unless they can drastically turn things around. I could go on a long post here but I wont. Yes the Jags offensive line is flat out terrible. It's gonna take time no doubt about it for them to gel. Their left side is getting there. They just released their RT today. Of those 10 sacks given up last week, 4 of them were on Henne. He is unable to move up in the pocket. His awareness is one of his worst traits. I honestly expect Bortles to start week 5 vs the Steelers. That's my guess. We shall see though, we shall see.

Not really saying this in reply to you and no one else, but I think this is an interesting question: Is the Eagles defense below average because they want to play shootout football, wear teams down physically and mentally, and roll the dice by gambling on defense and hoping that one or two quick stops and one or two turnovers is enough for them to win given their offensive firepower?
September 17, 201412 yr Author I can't recall who wrote the article right off, but I know it was ESPN and I'm thinking it was either a Grantland or 538 piece, but statistically speaking, Indianapolis won a lot of close games last year and if you look at the numbers, it wouldn't be the most shocking thing to see them regress back to the mean this season.
September 17, 201412 yr Not really saying this in reply to you and no one else, but I think this is an interesting question: Is the Eagles defense below average because they want to play shootout football, wear teams down physically and mentally, and roll the dice by gambling on defense and hoping that one or two quick stops and one or two turnovers is enough for them to win given their offensive firepower? They can't get enough pressure on the QB with four and their linebackers are very average and if Kendricks is out for any length of time that group is weak. I am not sure their offense has a lot to do with it. They don't have many 3 and outs. They do get a lot of plays, though. I am not sure they are as good as Denver or Cincy offensively. They really struggle in short yardage and goal line. They do wear defenses down and well McCoy and Sproles can break away on any play. Teams do defend them well early but like last night Sproles went off in the 2nd half. Fatigue of defense had to be a big reason. Their WR's are just very average and Celek at TE seems to have lost a little. They are in one of the two weakest divisions in the NFL and should clinch by early December.
