Lets just say they are 15-16 yrs old. Just imagine what their physique would be like in 2 years at the age of 18? Eat right and keep lifting those weights young men.

If I am a college recruiter the two clips starting at the 2:00 mark are the most impressive. All the great solo tackles and anticipation plays are obviously impressive, but those two impressed me because they shouldn't even be highlights for most people.

 

The first one he is actually well blocked as they come to his side.. yet he sets the lineman up and is able to disrupt the play for a short gain by anticipating and spinning back into the hole to meet the ball carrier.

 

The second clip he once again is pretty well blocked but is able to simply out power his man to get down the line and lay a hit on the RB as he comes to the LOS. I say 99% of the D-Linemen in KY there never get within 5 feet of that ball carrier but Horton was able to not only get there but make the stop.

Bentley was held back, Horton is a "true" Sophmore.

... Also imagine a college level strength coach working with them.

 

Bentley's biggest obstacle right now is he is a tweener IMHO as a prospect. As a TE or DE he will need to improve foot speed and lateral quickness. I am with P2P that I think he looks like a prototype OT, but he hasn't really played that position. With that said it is fairly common for HS TE's to easily transition to OT...right off the top of my head I know UK did it with Zipp Duncan and Bentley to me already looks like a better football player than Duncan did at Etown.

 

Horton is listed as 6'2 but I think he is more like 6'0. If he grows another two inches I could see him as a major DT prospect and could also be a Strongside DE. His foot speed and agility is simply off the charts for someone his age and his size.

I don't know what they feed them boys, but Horton and Bentley are MEN!!!

 

The whole defense is loaded with talent and these two are not the only two who deserve credit either. Watching this team play is more fun than a trampoline in a sorority house. :jump:

As a freshman, according to his Hudl video, Horton had 93 tackles and 10 sacks.

As a Sophomore, he had 120 tackles, 17 sacks and 43 tackles for a loss.

 

He is listed as 6'2", 285 and a 4.93 40

I am going to go ahead and say it... Horton is the best defensive linemen to come out of KY since Micah Johnson and the best DT since Jeremy Caudill.

 

From what I hear he was injured during the camp circuit last year... I predict he has a HUGE summer and you see him gain some major attention.

Off topic but didn't Micah Johnson play inside linebacker at UK? Did he play defensive line in high school?

That's where he started off at UK and never really took off... at the SEC level was never big enough or explosive enough as a DE.

 

Found his niche as a LB, but was too much of a tweener for the NFL.. too big and not fast enough as a LB.

ESPN had him as the #1 inside linebacker in his class

Kid made a lot of great plays this past season. He has great short range closing speed. I hope he is able to attend as many combines/camps/etc as possible between now and next season.

 

I frankly a little surprised the recruiting buzz around him hasn't picked up some since his performance in the state championship game.
