Dixie Heights 27 Turpin (OH) 19

Great job Dixie!

This was a battle royale slugfest between two good football teams. The Refs seemed more concern with Dixie's sideline than calling an objective game. The Colonels prevail and improve to 2-1 on the season. This was a very good district prep game. The following segment was from cincinnati.com, have a great weekend!

Dixie Heights, No. 5 in The Enquirer Northern Kentucky coaches' poll, scored a touchdown in each quarter to get past host Turpin.

Drew Moore had 98 yards on 17 carries and scored three touchdowns (two rushing, one receiving) to lead the way for the Colonels, while Ben Owens also had a rushing touchdown and Luke Zajac had 95 yards rushing on 13 carries.

D-Ben Owens 3 runs (Ethan Schulte kick)

T-Carpenter 14 run (Carpenter kick)

D-Drew Moore 27 pass from Luke Caple (Ethan Schulte kick)

D-Drew Moore 10 run (kick failed)

T-Stoll 1 run (run failed)

D-Drew Moore 18 run (Ethan Schulte kick)

T-Carpenter 14 run (run failed)

I thought somebody said Turpin was really down this year?

You should go to the doctor for that.

Another quality win for the Dixie Colonels!

How is this a quality win? Turpin is now 1-2 and only beat Western Hills who is 0-3. They lost to McNicholas 21 to 7 and they are 3-0. Turpin is not very good at all!

Really? You're sand-bagging on Dixie's opponent when SK's 4 opponents have a combined total of 1 win on the season?

He's not letting facts get in the way of a good argument.

It was a good win because Dixie won despite not playing well. They committed three turnovers, had three or so red zone chances than got them nothing (thanks to TOs and penalties). Big plays by Moore, Caple, and a touchdown saving interception by Schulte in the second half saved the day.

Turpin is a young and talented team. Lots of sophomores and juniors on that squad are going to be a load to deal with later this year and in the next two years in the ECC.
