People are taking away the rights of Christians every single day. Just look at this. Look at what America has become. Are you liberals happy now? Huh? Are you happy now libertarians? We've taken away Christian's rights for so long that things like this are happening.

IMO whoever authorized an arrest for this under those terms isn't fit to uphold the Constitution, but hey, that's just me.

That's your liberal ACLU loving society we have now thanks to them.

The ACLU can be pretty liberal when it comes to social issues (i.e., homosexuality, reproductive rights, and the death penalty). I don't agree with all of their views on every topic (looking at you some stances they take in regards to the death penalty, because hey, I live in Texas and all). Anyway, I think it's fair to say that the ACLU has some conservative tendencies as well, especially when it comes to individual rights and Constitutional freedoms. For instance, I think they've blasted the Obama administration over the NSA pretty hard. They take a pretty conservative/libertarian stances with their views on search and seizure, the right to free speech, rights to protest, consumer protection, and various other rights to privacy-- after all, liberties is in their name.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the ACLU wouldn't support the fact that this is a kid being blatantly punished for mocking a popular religion (and let's be honest here, that's the only reason he's being punished). If I'm an ACLU lover for unequivocally stating that I'll support them on that stance while disagreeing with portions of other views they have on different issues like the death penalty, well... I guess I'm guilty as charged.

So now you think something like sharia law is ok in this case? :)

Should do community service and that it. Unless he damaged the statue in anyway.

Why should he even be forced to do community service?

If this were a statue of Yogi Bear or Satan, then you know he wouldn't be asked to do anything. This is someone getting upset because they felt that their religion was being insulted. Nothing more, nothing less.

Sad to say but a Muslim wouldn't do this type of thing to a Mohammed statue. And if they did, they would be instantly killed.

We don't live in a Christian society anymore,

He shouldn't go to jail. That statue of Jesus isn't even a statue of Jesus. His skin is too light. :D

The public humiliation he has brought on to himself and his family should be punishment enough. Social media is the downfall of many young people.
