Scott 10 Calvary Christian 0

The goal Tackett scored was off an assist from treadway and the 2nd goal Schneider scored was the final goal of the game and treadway was already out. I didnt see anybody complain when a guy from calvary scored 7 goals in one game last Year. So my question to you guys is what is the difference between treadway scoring 7 goals in one game and someone from a different team scoring 7 goals in one game? Please feel free to go all out with your answer i am increddibly curious.

It's different, Luke is one of the best players in the state. Yes I said state... If you have some JV players like that Tacket kid scores 3 or 4 it's different.

Tackett Can't play JV

Not a lot of difference really. What is your point? Calvary did it last year so it was OK? What game was that by the way? I don't recall a post on this site from last year listing a Calvary playing scoring 7 on some hapless team but if there had been, probably would have been the same reaction. I think the recent fiasco of the red card/yellow card game between Scott/Boone recently has focused a little more attention on Scott and Boone.

As far as knowing the game he played soccer for a living, I bet he has more soccer knowledge than over 3/4th of the coaches in the state. He comes from a different country. He is still learning things. IMO as far as high school coaching goes anyone can coach a high school soccer team, there's no development in high school soccer. You either have good players or you don't.

He is great role model for all the students at Scott. Without him we wouldn't have accomplished the things we did last year or the things that are yet to come.

I get you defending your coach, and give you credit for that, I cannot see how you can say that he is a great role model for all the students at Scott. Maybe in the classroom, or in other circles, but not really seeing how this can be true with all of the soccer issues that are popping up.

What kept the coach from pulling his starters at half and letting the reserves play?

Most people that started in that game never get much playing time as a matter of fact most of the regular starters for Scott sat the bench the majority of the game.

That game was Calvary playing against Latin

They have a tournament downstate on Sat. and the boys have not had much playing time with cards and rainouts. They just played a little over a half. I have not seen this much discussion when Cov. Cath. Mercies Latin and Holmes almost every year.

Seems to be a common theme from some of the Scott backers on this thread... How can I justify this.

I know you cannot control the weather but reduced playing time because of cards... this is cause to look in the mirror... not blame others, IMO.

As groinpull mentioned... does that make it OK?

You might be off on the quantity, riherds stats are not quite the same as you are stating.

I see that Calvary beat Latin 10-2, which is not a mercy rule game but apparently went the distance, and one player did score 6 goals in that game but I was asking about the game where the Calvary kid scored 7 goals, not 6, in a mercy rule game. Which one was that?

Are you actually saying that he did not start his normal lineup?

So the philosophy was applied to everyone else except their #1 player.........and they had plenty of others on the bench that could have been playing..........seems as if you support the wrong-ness of this.....

I do not support the wrong-ness of this nor do i rebut it. I have played soccer since I was 3 and I also ref soccer. My opinion on whether the coach should have taken Treadway out or not is that if Treadway was going for a record so be it, but that doesn't make it right. The coach wanted him to get more playing time after being out for 2 games so be it but that doesn't make it right.

Rule 13

I never said it was a mercy rule game and i was mistaken about whether it was 7 or 6 but still there is the same question, What is the difference?

He did not start his normal lineup.

He did not start his normal lineup.

I am guessing for some other reason, not that they were playing a lesser opponent though.
