TomcatPride Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Congrats to Rex and the boys. No offense to the Russell and Greenup followers, but I think it would be amazing if Elliott Co. and Fairview played for the 16th Region Championship, and the right to go to Rupp. I'd almost go just to watch the fans of one of those teams celebrate in Morehead. Good luck to all teams on Friday though.
Powerhouse Cats Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 About what I expected. Who did good for the Eagles?
Frances Bavier Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Well, I picked Fairview in the thread with the poll, and I'm going to stay with them. The real key is hoping that whoever comes out of Morehead picks up a win against the First Region winner. They are a lot like us, in that their region is wide open also. Round two is going to be tough. Almost certainly going to be against South Laurel. I don't look for them to be taking many prisoners at the State Tournament. Frances

Royal mom Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 I predict that the winner of the Russell v Fairview game will be cutting down the nets in Morehead and making reservations for Rupp Arena.:ylsuper:
oldrambler Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Maybe so, but don't sell Elliot Co. short - They have beaten Fairview twice and I think they lost to Russel in a close game.
FBALL Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Don't forget about Greenup Co either. They are playing solid defense and a ball control offense that really spreads the floor. There is no easy out in this tournament.
oldrambler Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Good point, at the start of the tournament I thought that there were 6 teams that could win it. Four of those 6 teams are in the Semi's.
westsider Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 As an interested 1st Region observer, I'm looking for the winner of Russell-Fairview to prevail.
Frances Bavier Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Westsider - What's it looking like on the other end of the state? Who's playing hot right now, in your regional? Frances
