Ugly first half. These refs let them play, but they are consistent. I am worried that this phyiscal play might favor Highlands.

CovCath pulled away in the 3rd quarter for probably the 15th time this year.

Timmy had 22 pts, Dnoll had 14 pts and 9 rbs, Schult had 10 rbs and 5 assists.

CCH once again dominates the second half, and pulls off the the easy victory. Refs let a lot of physical play go, which was pretty nice to see.

Prepares them better for the state tourney, even though the 9th does so incredible bad there and stands no chance whatsoever

hey gentlemen, lets give ryle a little credit...they played hard. I do believe though that covington catholic needs to be a little more physical, highlands has some big boys. good luck....see you next year

So says M-Crunch. The 9th always seems to bow down to other teams and not even try to compete.

Not much to say for my closing comments on the season. Solid first half by the Raiders and you would think that Michael Brown draining a half-courter at the buzzer would give you a lift, only trailing by THREE at the half. That was an awesome shot, the best I saw in person this season with him getting bumped and everything and absolutely drawing nothing but net. Not so as CovCath dominated the second half. Congrats to the Holy Colonels. I vote for a 16 minute contest the next time we play the Blue Colonels. Best of luck to all the remaining teams.

I bet a lot of teams wish they could just play one half against CCH, and avoid the second half. BTW is that the same Michael Brown... soccer player?

Played against him a few times. Very emotional on the pitch, i can't say if it's the same way on the court. He has the ablilty to get mad and score 0 goals or get mad and score 5, and yes that did happen once, not against me though. ;)

Is it just me or did it seem like for awhile the gods of goofy rim rolls and miracle shots were carrying the Raiders through the 1st half? They played very hard and earned this temporary good fortune. Good luck comes to those who work hard. I said to myself as I'm sure most did that it was only a matter of time before their luck would run out and the Colonels would take over. Ryle was no pushover and they kept it pretty interesting for a good while.

It's a pleasure to watch CovCath play great TEAM ball and to do so for 32 minutes with a competent load of depth. I didn't see them lapse much, they just keep focused and plugging away understanding the big picture. They beautifully stay composed even when things temporarily don't go their way. What a nice 1,2,3,4 punch Tim T., TJ, Kurt Bovard, and Danny Noll are. And what a value it is to have spare big men and confident backup guard play that appears to versitle enough to fill whatever shoes they are called to fill. This is the kind of TEAM basketball that I foam at the mouth over.

I'm wondering though when the Colonels come Friday to play basketball and the Birds come too play football what these 5th Region refs are gonna have to say about that? They seemed to let it slide alot tonight against Ludlow, but I think, just like DJ of Holmes finally getting his wakeup call, that the Birds might just get theirs. They are one tough team and I might be a whimp to say that the game was meant to be just a tad bit more timid than they display, but jeeze, I've never seen such repetitive ugly shoves in high school basketball like I see out of this bunch. Just call me a whimp....

Man, it's gonna be a war Friday night!, and just like an ambulance chaser, I wouldn't miss it for the world!
