Could it be the fact that the numbers are dwindling up on the hill? Is the school becoming a Basketball school? I know they have had trouble the past few years with numbers at the frosh level. Just curious. Obviously, more numbers gives you more options to insert in spots that need help like the line.

2009 something happened to my post. Anyway look at who they lost to. Losing that 1st game against Ashland set back a young teams development. They lost to a good Cooper team. They improved and looked better against a CC team that took Highlands to the wire. That was with starting a Sophomore QB. I don't see how this team can be judged until districts unless they digress the next two weeks. SK could be the 2nd best team in NKY so that will be the toughest of all of them. In 2012, that was the game that flipped the season. Hopefully it has a similar effect this year. De Sales has set the bar. That is a steep learning curve bc they seem very very good again.

I agree w what he said as well. I just think it is a little early especially after such a big change at QB. Let it grow a couple more games

I don't get it. Haven't we seen this story before? Start in 1 and 4 isn't something new. Why panic? Why start bashing coaches on a forum? That's what other schools do, not perennial winners. Makes us look second class. I commend the coaches for pulling the cord after the 1st game. These games are going to be rough and the District looks to be greatly upgraded to seasons past. Either way it goes, no reason to blast coaches on the internet. Leave that to schools that complain about their lack of success.

 

Agree, no panic here as I fully expected a 1-4 start......sorry Breds fans, just my honest opinion. However, I fully expect this team to be ready for another long playoff run as well.

There's were you are wrong, criticism is what forces programs to get better. Everything stated is a matter of fact, not bashing and not personal. Its a criticism of poor game planning by an oc, plain and simple. What's a forum for? Different views or to push your self righteousness on someone else?

 

Agree wholeheartedly with this. I wish more people would give their honest opinion, including the BAD, and I don't take it as personal or bashing.

 

It would be a real boring site if we only read post that were all "butterflys and rainbows".

Congratulations to the Camels on the Win....... I don't think there is any cause for alarm for the Breds, they'll be fine.... As for the penalties, the Camels had some costly ones as well, including one touchdown called back for a holding call that happened behind the play.

The numbers are not dwindling. They have the same numbers of players that the 2000, 2001, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 etc. teams had. The only year that was significantly less than normal was 2009 because they only had 7 Seniors that year. And following that they had very good years in 2010-2013. They always have about 40-45 Sophs, Jrs, Srs on the Varsity roster and they usually have 14-18 Frosh. They are kind of stuck Frosh games-wise because none of the NKY 1A schools field a Frosh team except Beechwood and none of the 2A schools other than NCC has a Frosh team. So the have to play Soph-Frosh teams or play the 5A and 6A school Frosh teams that usually have 40-50 kids.

NEWCATH roster shows 20 Freshmen players.

Years past NCC has made adjustments at halftime, but I've yet to notice any changes. Blocking, although a little better than last week, was still terrible. If the BREDS expect to make it through the playoffs, that needs to be addressed.

Sorry, they lost the experience of the first game. You improve your most between game 1 and 2. They are a week behind bc of it.
