September 16, 201412 yr Depending on what you might dig about MTV era new wavy stuff, either it's elements can make one cringe from its dated and tired sound, or sometimes certain tunes can stand up and on their own as still sounding fresh and timeless although unmistakably 80's. Although rarely heard and perhaps forgotten, this particular track has always worked for me in it's solid melodic way as well as the sentiment of it's lyrical content. As far as I can tell this British band Vitamin Z never amounted to much more than the song "Burning Flame" but at least with this one song I feel that they nailed it with their contribution to the era.
September 16, 201412 yr Digging this British glam rock band Sweet's tune "Love Is Like Oxygen" from 1978.
September 16, 201412 yr In British band Talk Talk's ten years together they put out 5 releases starting with solid sophisticated pop elements that progressively became very much non-pop by their last two offerings, and for many hard to listen to. Their 2nd and 3rd releases "It's My Life", and "The Colour of Spring" are probably their most listenable records with the latter showing a hint of what was to come as they started to distance themselves from what was expected. Those two albums were solid with "It's my Life" being the most appreciated by the general public. Here is the title track. Talk Talk - It's My Life (UK Version) - YouTube
