September 2, 201412 yr This team is a disaster. Big contracts to the wrong guys, no depth, old, injury prone. The deals for Votto and Bailey were over the top for me. Its easy to say the Votto deal was over the top now that he hasn't been healthy since. However at the time it looked like they locked up one of the top hitters in baseball for a long time. The Bailey deal was the one that shouldn't have been done.
September 2, 201412 yr This will be the only deal Walt makes, I could see him maybe moving Heisey or Hanahan, but otherwise everything will be just like spring training 2014, roster-wise. Does the team need some fungo balls and batting gloves? Maybe someone would take Heisey and give you nothing in return other than some low minor leaguer. Hanahan you would have to throw in some bobbleheads or something.
September 3, 201412 yr I'd use that money to get rid of some dead weight. They will have 6.5 million left after the Ludwick buyout.
September 3, 201412 yr Hoover was sent down.... way too late... and he's back up now that they shipped Broxton off.... but to leave a guy in the bigs as long as they left Hoover is ludacris
September 3, 201412 yr They will have 6.5 million left after the Ludwick buyout. He will probably retire, what ever he paid his agent was money well spent.
