What does the BG kicking game look like this year?

Pride, so far I have been pretty impressed in less than ideal conditions. Kickoffs went to the 10 which is improvement for BG andXP team have looked solid so far.

Can't believe Mercer is in this game with as many starters that they have out with injuries........and not to mention all their miscues.

Halftime. BG 16 Mercer County 6

Both defenses have played well, but for BG fans is this it for our offense this year? Have not committed to the run at all thus game. Mercer D likely has a lot to do with that with 8 or 9 guys in box. This is the game I desperately wanted QB Cambell Gott to get confidence. Through 2 quarters of his team, no offensive rythm can be found. Let's see about 2nd half.

Mercer is hanging tough. Impressed with them overall. Need one fumble and they could put more pressure on

BGDN's Zach Greenwell has it 39-35 on offensive yardage in favor of BG. Defense has ruled the day.

As far as BG's offense there have been some drops that I believe can be laid on the rain that would have helped. I think the transition to Hayes spoiled us all too. Gott may be fine, but isn't superhuman out of the gate as Hayes was. Problem for him is that the schedule doesn't ease up for several weeks. Hopefully he either performs well quickly or doesn't get down if it's rough going for him. The next two games will be especially tough.

39 yds of offense in the 1st half:ohbrother:

BGs ball. Good first run gain of 10 yds. Purples look like they are committed to run this series. 3rd and 6. Gott gain of 5. 4 th and 1. Purples get delay of game and will punt.

Bad snap. Mercer ball at BG 39. Oh boy.

It has to be mentioned that these punt mishaps are part of the problem for yardage numbers. It counts against you.

Mercer County IMO is in a must score situation any time they get good field position. I have no faith in them to put together a long drive.

Mercer 3rd and 6 in 4 down territory. First down Mercer. Nice run by their QB. Another sack! 3rd and 15. Pass incomplete. 4th and 15. Mercer goes for it. Pass incomplete but flag. Holding Mercer. BG ball on BG 33

The mistake flipped field position but ultimately no points for Mercer.

Yates to the House! Purple Nation applauds. Flag down after play. Horse collar assessed on KO. BG 23 Mercer 6. Mercer up against it now

I honestly think that'll do it. 16 points honestly may have been enough. Mercer isn't scoring 24 on this defense.

Gott 40 yd TD pass to DeAngelo Wilson TD. Do I smell some confidence? BG 30 to 6 with about 4 to go in the third. I'm heading to Louisville. Purple Nation can take it from here.
