August 22, 201412 yr A five time Emmy winner for his analysis on Sunday Night Football seems to think they Bengals are one of the most talented teams in the NFL... There’s not a team across the board that has more physical talent than they do,” Collinsworth said. “It’s just a matter of can you make those big plays in big games?” “Can you beat a Manning? Can you beat a Tom Brady? Can you beat an Aaron Rodgers? There are certain teams that have those guys that have proven themselves Super Bowl worthy. Right now they’re certainly good enough to be in that hunt right now.” Once again as I showed last year that there are NFL people who also share my opinion on the overall talent of the Bengals. IMO it still just like last year will come down to the play of Dalton and well coaching. You can have talent but if you don't have the QB play and coaching then you will lose in the playoffs like they have. So it will come down to the again IMO. Notes: Collinsworth says no one has more talent; Hill aims 7 per; Whit says Geno has comeback power Well I hope unlike last year, you aren't proved wrong again this year. Again, the most talented team does not lose against the #6 seed in the playoffs and the most talented team doesn't send the fewest players to the pro bowl. Now tell me, can you think for yourself yet or do you still go by whatever anyone on the radio or tv says? I'd like you to have an actual thought for yourself on this team instead of always agreeing with anyone who says something positivie about the bengals or quit agreeing with my assesment of the team whenever it's proven right (Dalton for instance) You can tell us all you want about how you said last year and this year how it all depends on Dalton. If you remember 2 years ago while you were too busy comparing Dalton to Drew Brees and Peyton Manning I was telling you how he has problems under pressure etc. and fails in big games. Yes that was me. So now last year you followed me in my assesment with Dalton, which I don't mind because after all I was right....again. Remember, this team is talented...that is not the same as saying they are the most talented. You seem to think the latter. Yet I am waiting for you to come up with an assesment that is all yours.
August 22, 201412 yr Yes sir but an opinion I have to back up since I was told how wrong and crazy I was to think that. So i try to use things to support my opinion. Because if i am wrong like with palmer then i will hear it and thats fine. I will stand strong by my opinions unless they end up wrong like on Palmer or the reds this year lol. Just Like when the team finished in the top ten in both offense and defense I do think that supports my opinion very well and should be said since I had to hear how wrong I was to think that. Then use something to back it up instead of talking heads saying what you want to hear. The most talented plays that way FC and that is something you keep missing. You blame it all on Dalton but in fact there have been teams with not very good QB's who actually not only win playoff games but also win Super Bowls....why? Because the rest of the team is very taletned and deep with talent. Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson won the big game and as some would say Dalton is probably better than both those guys. So we are still waiting for you to show us something to support your opinion. I used facts to support my opinion last year, why don't you try the same?

Remember, this team is talented...that is not the same as saying they are the most talented. You seem to think the latter. Yet I am waiting for you to come up with an assesment that is all yours. Really an assessment of mine own? Hmmm lets see I was one of the first people to talk about the talent thing last year, and then used other people who said the same thing on stories posted after I also said it to show I was not crazy in my thinking. Lets not forget it all started with me saying it was the most talented team since the Super Bowl team, and you coming in saying how wrong I was and that it was the 2005 team. As I mentioned people never even talked about that 2005 team as overall talent, but just a great offense. It seems like you have realized you were wrong on that debate because you don't mention that anymore, because I mean it would be hard for you to say different considering last year's team did finish in the top 10 in both offense and defense to show they were talented on both sides of the ball and not just one like in 2005. So at least you seen the light on that now. As for Dalton and the Brees thing. That is clearly another case of what you do best, and that is hearing what you want to hear. I use the Brees example to show how it was to early to come up with judgements on him like you all did and how it took him until his 4th year before he ever he played good. Never once said he would end up being as good as Brees, and I have challenged you a few times to find that and yet never did. So yes this team was talented and one of the most talented teams in the league last year and still is.
August 22, 201412 yr Author Then use something to back it up instead of talking heads saying what you want to hear. The most talented plays that way FC and that is something you keep missing. So we are still waiting for you to show us something to support your opinion. I used facts to support my opinion last year, why don't you try the same? Brad Johnson that Super Bowl year had 5 touchdown passes and over 600 yards passing in his three games in the playoffs that Super Bowl year. Do you know what he did the year before that in the playoffs? In his one and only playoff game the year before on that same Tampa team he had 4 interceptions and they lost. So yes they had talent but they only won once their QB played well and didn't lose games for them. Trent Dilfer played in the post season only twice in his life. In his first post season he only 1 touchdown and 3 interceptions and yeah they didn't win it all obviously. In his second post season was when he was with the Ravens and that year they did win it all. That year he had 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. So yes he didn't play great, but he also didn't do anything to lose games. So thank you for supporting my statement on it will depend on Dalton, because just like in your two examples. It took until those QB's played well for the talent on their teams to win in those playoff games.
August 22, 201412 yr Author By the way I have given a true fact a few times that you keep ignoring. Finishing in the top 10 in both offense and defense shows they were one of the most talented teams in the league. I believe there was only two teams who finished in the top 10 in both and the Bengals were one of them. So not sure how you are going to argue that stat on how it shows they were one of the most talented TEAMS! Once again key word TEAMS!
August 22, 201412 yr This thread is exactly why there's not more support for the Bengals verbalized in text on this site.
August 22, 201412 yr This thread is exactly why there's not more support for the Bengals verbalized in text on this site. Explain, I don't get what you are saying?
August 22, 201412 yr Explain, I don't get what you are saying? The history of those 2 and their measuring contests make it difficult to post in any threads they're in. It's tired really.
August 22, 201412 yr The history of those 2 and their measuring contests make it difficult to post in any threads they're in. It's tired really. Gotcha!
August 22, 201412 yr Author The history of those 2 and their measuring contests make it difficult to post in any threads they're in. It's tired really. That is true and this one is my fault. I actually was planning on trying not to this year, but then I seen a little reference to mine and his argument last year on talent brought up again in the preseason thread. So I decided to post this to show I am not the only type of people who think that. Are you still able to close down threads? If so could you close this? Because you are right it needs to stop and I am just as guilty. I know I would like to see more people in the threads because me and him do prevent a lot of people from wanting to post. So are you able to close this? We can just start a new for this year then.
August 22, 201412 yr Author Not down on Hill at all. He has proven nothing in the NFL, he could be great. Hill has started fine, though. The injury Saturday concerns me. It was probably precautionary, but... He has an injury and character history. I want to wait and see. BJGE is finished IMO. He is serviceable at best. Hill does not have the skill set to demand the attention that Gio does. Teams have to game plan Gio, I don't think they will as much with Hill. Without Gio, teams can plan around stopping the TE's and #2 receiver. It's a given they will double Green, no matter what. Yes Gio brings a big play making dimension. However Hill is suppose to be a good pass catcher too, and if we are able to establish a strong running game even with Hill. Then it would be very hard still for teams to stop the TE's, take away the #2 and double Green if they can't stop the run. So Hill would need to establish a good running attack for us. If he does fail and Gio got hurt then your right they will be hurting there.
August 22, 201412 yr The history of those 2 and their measuring contests make it difficult to post in any threads they're in. It's tired really. I think it's the Bengals inability to win in the post season that makes the activity in Bengals threads a ghost town.
