We started slow but adjusted and finished fairly strong. We will be okay but have a lot of work to be done

 

Our new young QB made some mistakes and looked shaky at the start on some of his throws but he settled down mid way through and began to deliver some nice balls and made few mistakes. Our #2 back, looked every bit as good as our #1 back which was a surprise.

 

Early on we had some defensive coverage issues that really Milan really hurt us with but we made some adjustments and things went much smoother. Our D line did not get as much pressure on their QB who was pretty accurate and that will have to improve

 

We seemed to be in really good physical condition which was a plus and we are cat quick all over the field and have pretty decent size

The QB will get better as the season goes and should have Mayfield ready for another run at a title. How did the running backs do? What kind of base defense is Mayfield running? That's very good to be a in good condition this early in the year. Any kids step up who no one expected too?

Milan missed an extra point to make it 20-10. They hit a field goal for their final points. As far as the other scoring , I'm proud of the JV but I don't figure that into the game.

 

I thought we looked pretty good at times but we fumbled a couple of times including one around the 7 yard line that went through the endzone. The pass defense could use a little work but the QB for Milan was pretty good.

 

Overall, I guess it was a good scrimmage to see where we are and nobody got hurt.

IDK but they are tradition rich and holders of 4 TN state titles. They were 3A state runner ups in 2008, 09, 11 and 12

 

Last year they had a tough year, the only tough year I can ever recall them having.

 

Yes we have handled them fairly easily the last 2 years.

 

Milan was very young last year, I expect them to return their usual selves this year but that is just speculation on my part
