I'm not going to mention names, but I've heard from some people that this allegedly involved multiple (2) people. Maybe the other person who was questioned at the scene (who was an adult) was potentially cleared. Not really sure.. But it really is a shame this happened, and my thoughts are with the Wilson family.

Correct. I don't think I'd be naming names regardless though. Pretty touchy situation. I do know however, the other individual who was at the scene (again, from what I've heard) is not a minor, and is also mutually "friends" of both.

If he was from the west side of Newport it's an even bigger shame . Not many kids on that side of town go on to college and you hate to see a kid who has a shot to get out and did things the right way have his life end in such a horrible way.

I don't know if he lived in the West End originally or not. The apartments this happened at are in South Newport, near Kentucky Drive. Regardless of where he was raised or where it happened, it's really sad. Sounds like a terrific young man with a bright future. What a shame he was taken by such a senseless tragedy. Prayers for his family and friends.

It wasn't over money or drugs. It was a group of friends who were drinking and possibly smoking Pot horsing around taking snapchat photos of themselves with the gun. They were obviously acting wrecklessly and the gun went off accidentally. Kid freaked out and ran, 18 yr old at the scene informed police where the 17 yr old ran and he was picked up. Everyone involved in this terrible event is pretty torn up. The shooter has had issues with the law in the past but this was not a murder. If anything it will likely be classified involuntary manslaughter.

He was shot in the back of the head, it's hard to call that an accident. I know some of them were taking snapchats with the gun (the 18 year old was; not going to name their name). It wasn't drug related. I believe they'll prosecute farther than involuntary manslaughter.

Guns go off and they can hit people Not Looking at them. Who knows maybe he was faking like he was going to execute him and it went off. What Im simply saying is the Kid Did Not maliciously shoot the victim. It will come out once details are sorted.
