The Tea Party is alive and well.

The challenge now for conservatives is getting Brat elected. The Tea Party sure doesn't want this to become another primary win / general election loss giving away another seat to a Democrat.

 

There hasn't been a Democrat elected to that seat since the 20's. And the Democrat is a weak candidate. I don't see any indication he is going to take out the guy who took the [Former] House Majority Leader

Rasmussen also had Cantor getting a huge win.

 

 

No surprise most polls had Cantor winning. I just find it hard to believe that Cantor's polling had him up 30+ points.

 

I don't believe his campaign would have spent the money to run TV ads if they were that much in the bag.

They give political cover to bad politicians. Politicians who charade as a pro-gun but their actions speak otherwise.

 

People like Republican Scott Riggell and Eric Cantor, Democrats like Joe Manchin.

 

Heck, they even gave Harry Reid $5,000 in his reelection bid.

 

Unless you want to give your money to those types, save it and give it to a group like the National Association for Gun Rights (NAGR).

 

They're the fastest growing and most active pro-gun group in the country.

 

They outspent the NRA 3:1 ($3 million to NRA's measly $800,000) in last year's efforts to repeal the gun-control bills after Sandy Hook. You can thank them for stopping any and all attempts.

 

They were also instrumental in ousting Cantor last night. They spent a good amount of money and was Brat's only outside help. (Canter was endorsed by the NRA and they spent money in favor of him).

Once they saw their internal polling, and what the Daily Caller poll by Vox Populi Polling, I'm sure they went into freak out mode. No campaign ever wants that to happen.

We have thousands if illegal aliens - mainly from Mexico in the US. Hundreds or more of these are part of drug cartels and armed to the teeth (some with guns provided by our own DOJ) - inside our boarders. Hurdreds of illegal alien criminals were just cut loose back into our own society. Yet an American takes a wrong turn at a regular border checkpoint that had poor temporary signage and he is still in jail. And immigration policy (or lack there of) is an issue that is going to hurt the Republicans?

Read today's headlines. This was much more than a mere primary in Virginia. Huge upsets like this one will only embolden our friends on the far right. By the way, Cantor was the only Jewish GOP member in Congress. Now there are zero. With every election, the GOP becomes less diverse.

I like to look at the big picture rather than get bogged down by how individual precincts voted. Moderate Republicans may soon see more distance between themselves and the Tea Party than between themselves and the Democratic Party. I also wonder whether a fair number of establishment Republicans voted against Cantor because of his leadership role in the do-nothing Congress.

I mean, Ben Sassee won, Chris McDaniel will probably win. Justin Amash will probably win. T.W. Shannon looks good. Dave Brat is obviously doing well.

Where can we find vote analysis? I have not seen anything but haven't really looked for it hard. How many of the votes were cast by registered republican's vs other?
