Cordia's Christen Cunningham has committed to Samford and new coach Scott Padgett.

Had Samford been recruiting him for a while or is this a late steal by new coach Padgett?

Congrats to Christian. Know the young man since the 3rd grade when the CK Warriors and the NKY TarHeels used to battle it out on the court during AAU season. Best of luck to he and Jordan Green at WKU.

According to his AAU program he has NOT commited to Samford. He has not even visited the school

Glad to hear that. Seems they've recruited KY kids pretty hard. I know they've offered Carson Williams, Ronnie Carson and Hagen Tyler. I'm thinking maybe Beverly as well??? It'd be nice to see a KY boy do well by recruiting KY kids!

Samford is getting a steal IMO. CC is a very good PG who can get in the lane and make things happen. Good strength and a good defender. Don't be surprised if he gets some quality minutes his freshmen year

According to Verbal Commits | Basketball Recruiting, Offers, Commits, Rankings, you can add Matt Rose (2015) and Quentin Goodin (2016) to the list of players who have received offers from Samford. Apparently, Samford has 15 total offers out for the classes of 2015 and 2016 with 6 of those 15 offers going to Kentucky kids.
