Supporting a coach and being realistic about potential wins and losses are not mutually exclusive.

 

I would agree with you if GRC had the same head football coach from the previous season but not when a new head football coach arrives for his initial season.

The juniors and seniors on this year's team have performed well as underclassmen in varsity contests. They also had winning seasons in JV contests as sophomores.

 

This would make my prediction not appear as an unrealistic expectation.

Being realistic of what games you will think they will win or loose is not being disloyal to the team or coaches. You will be hard pressed to find a bigger GRC fan than myself and I think anything above 3 wins with our schedule would be a success. I hope they win every game,but that is not realistic. IMO it puts alot of pressure on the team and coach and that is what you seem to be doing.

I predicted that they would win between 4 and 7 games in the regular season. I did not state that they would win every game.

 

If you are a GRC football fan then you should know that this group is going to do great things.

It would make it very unrealistic. While there might have been individual success, JV contest does not ensure a winning varsity program. And looking at the win/loss record for the last two years only confirms this.

And this is incredibly hypocritical with the ax your are grinding toward COACH Riddle.

I believe that our juniors and seniors for 2014 played well as underclassmen in 2012 and 2013. They will become even more valuable in 2014 due to the off season efforts by Perry Williams making them stronger and faster.

 

The recent JV success occurred with the juniors and seniors for 2014. Many of the successful players from the 2012 JV squad were successful as varsity members in 2013 on the offensive side of the ball. I have stated previously about the problems with the defensive side of the ball in varsity. Offensive production was not the problem in 2013, it was the lack of defense.

 

I am hopeful that GRC will find a way to overcome its defensive woes in recent years and have a very successful season.
