You were watching a totally different game than I did. But you have your opinion and I have mine. As for having the refs intimidated...I don't agree.

I will say this: there was NOTHING controversial in the game that would have changed the outcome. Both team's played hard and should be congratulated for their effort.

 

The play that he hurt his wrist on was not even called a foul, he fell to the floor after shooting the three trying to draw the call. I'm sure that I had a much better angle on both of the "hard fouls" that you were talking about.

 

As far as the officiating is concerned, it is hard for me to understand why you only have one highly regarded official on a night when there are so few games.

 

The only thing that would have changed the outcome tonght as if South was not on fire from behind the 3-point line.

 

What were the 3-point FG and the FT stats from the game?

The 13th Region officials standing beside me said they were hard fouls to. But who cares, it's over now. The one thing I do agree with you on is why they didn't have more than one highly regarded ref.

South was 13-of-28 from 3-land, Corbin was 9-of-17

SL hit 15-of-26 foul shots and corbin hit 5-of-8

 

The big stat was Corbin's 18 turnovers, which resulted into 27 points for south. The Cards' bench outscored Corbin, 21-8.

You all crack me up about the Clay comments, whats the deal do I sence some jealousy or what? Did any of you all watch the Clay/Corbin game it was not called for Clay in any little bit and last night the Jackson game. The refs had our best players in foul trouble all night... and the refs that will be at CLay are 15th region refs, so our coachs barely know them...

 

So did South just lay off of Corbin and let them catch up alittle or what? I personally think South will walk away with the region easily.

Ah South did get relaxed, but if it wouldnt have been for that outstanding 3rd quarter, might have been different. Not many teams are gonna beat a team when they have a quarter like that.........

If I'm not mistaken, Crawford didn't take a shot in the 3rd quarter of the 2nd meeting either. Does Corbin just go away from him and someone tries to be the hero after the half or is it due to South wanting to do everything in their power to contain him after the halftime break, then once they get a little lead, back off some? I've not been able to figure out him not gettin any shots in the 3rd quarter of key games.

The same thing happened in the Clay game. He was 8 of 12 shooting tonight, but most of those attempts came in the fourth quarter. He needs the ball in his hands...that's for sure.

I'll never forget that game. I was in the section first row on the very end and next to where the refs huddled before "The Hose Job". I clearly remember hearing one say, "Alright, it goes like this." We all were hollering and complaining but who can ya complain to when the people you are complaining about are in charge.

 

I'll never forget the student section wearing the band aids on their nose following the Coach Keith Mike Tyson incident. :laugh:
