I'm talking about after a parent or fan has been thrown out of a game that the coach can then ban that parent or fan from attending any of their games the rest of the season. I'm talking about acting after the subject has been thrown out, not before hand.

 

I never intended thAt the coach should be responsible for what goes on in the stand during games, I'm soley talking about after an incident then a coach should take it upon themselves to ban the person from attending anymore of their games that season.

"When a parent gets to the point where it is not only embarrassing but making the team look bad etc. and gets tossed etc. I'm not talking about when a parent says 1 thing and gets tossed by the ump. I'm talking about when they go on and on and on screaming and saying things they should be embarrassed about and cursing etc. and when it takes an ump 3 times to finally get him to leave.

 

Now if you don't know what the difference is when someone gets thrown out for saying thing after the ump has heard from everyone all game long and just had enough and what happened a couple weeks ago then you have no idea what we are talking about here.

 

I will also say this, if Bieger asked me to not attend anymore games that season I would have complied. Being thrown out for saying, and I quote "He must be a Boone Grad" in a normal tone is a lot different than calling an umpire every curse word you can think of for a good 5 minutes long at least. That kind of language should never be tolerated at any school event period.

While coaching HS basketball, I was once confronted in the hallway after a game. The parents (yes, both mom and dad) proceeded to verbally assault me and physically threaten me for not playing their son. He then made his son quit the team and strip out of his uniform right there in the public hallway. He then followed me to the parking lot and blocked me from getting in my car, still continuing his barrage. Finally, another parent grabbed him and removed him so I could leave. I told the school about it the next day and they did not do one thing. In fact, his son is still a student and plays football and his parents are at every game. This is why I no longer coach there.

I've also coached a couple different sports (Soccer, Softball, Baseball) and that is the worst part about coaching is putting up with parents like that.

 

What makes it worse is the position they put their kids in. That poor kid having to strip off his uniform in the hallway in front of everyone is shameful and the parents hopefully one day will finally realize that they've hurt their kid a lot more than the coach.

I didn't know they don't have the authority. I actually believe they do. They can go to the AD or administrator and request so and so not be allowed to be at any game etc. Maybe not at games on the road but surely home games.

Thanks for clearing that up. You are so wise in the ways of the world. Maybe the KHSAA should hire you as a field general for the 9th region? If a parent needs to be ejected, you could just walk them to their car. If it was a lesser offense, say questioning the integrity of the umpire by inferring that he is making biased calls against one team, because he is a graduate of the team they are playing, maybe you could just write him a ticket or citation or something like that?

Mr. Hellbird if you've been ejected from a H.S. event as a spectator for any reason, then you really shouldn't be judging others, commenting on others behaviors or posting threads like this. I doubt that you said one senece for an entire game and that is why an umpire threw you out. Stop judginging others and stick to posts that are related to the game of baseball. Thanks!

some AD's in the state are not seen as administrators. Sad that it is seen as a "side job" & not as important as the position really is in the entire scope of the school.

First off I didn't post this thread. AS far as me being ejected, yes I did say the one sentence. This ump had been hearing it from all the coaches and fans all game long, I was simply the scapegoat and that is what I said to get booted. Put it this way, it was such a bad ejection the Boone AD met me half way to the parking lot and felt so bad for me being ejected that he wanted me to watch the game from a spot he pointed out that the umpire couldn't see me. I thanked him but said it's alright and went and waited in the car for the game to finish. Also so you know, this was not the AD for the team I was there for, but Boone's AD who was at the game and saw what happened. So sorry to dissapoint you, but you telling me to stick to posts related to the game of baseball, I wonder why you are posting in this thread, shouldn't you be the one following your own suggestion? This thread is about parents etc. getting unruly at games.
