May 7, 201412 yr I'm totally confused. How is the Salvation Army a hate group?I think Elmer has everyone confused in this thread. Pure silliness.
May 7, 201412 yr Yes. Many people are wanting the Salvation Army to be recognized as a hate group.Who are these people and why do they want the Salvation Army to be recognized as a hate group?
May 9, 201412 yr Author Who are these people and why do they want the Salvation Army to be recognized as a hate group? Google it. And to respond to other posters as well, The Salvation Army and Chick Fil-A hate gay people. It's ashame and an embarrassment. Honestly, I would like to see congress find a way to severely fine those who are against civil rights. Anybody who wants to deny somebody their rights...I just don't know how they could look at themselves in the mirror.

Prove to me that they hate gay people. And don't tell me it's because the guy that owns Chick Fil-A doesn't agree with gay marriage he hates gays, give me a real answer.

If that's the case, how does the Southern Baptist Convention not end up on this report????? At least the Salvation Army is trying to do something about the hungry and the poor.

Anybody who wants to deny somebody their rights...I just don't know how they could look at themselves in the mirror. No they don't. The CEO of Chick Fil-A saying he doesn't support gay marriage does not mean he hates gay people. He employs gay people, without discrimination. He serves gay people, without discrimination. How exactly does he hate them? How some people reach the conclusions they do continues to baffle me on a daily basis.
May 9, 201412 yr No they don't. The point you made is a great one. I honestly believe it is the main reason why I think there is such a split in this country. We as a people need to be able to tell the difference between hate and disagreement. There are plenty of things two intelligent people can disagree on without it having anything to do with hate. I agree there is hate in the world and plenty of people who support it. The agrument gets clouded though when you lump everyone who disagrees with you in a hate category.
May 9, 201412 yr Author No, when you want to deny someone their rights, you are a hateful, intolerant bigot. Which seems to be the case on the right wing. It's all about small government until you want to deny someone their rights. Thankfully, the people spoke in 2012 that bigotry is a thing of the past!

Are you telling me a church should be forced to allow a gay marriage?
May 29, 201412 yr Author What right are they being denied? Are you telling me a church should be forced to allow a gay marriage? 1. Their right to get married 2. Their right to thousands of benefits 3. Their right to be treated as human beings
May 29, 201412 yr 1. Their right to get married 2. Their right to thousands of benefits 3. Their right to be treated as human beings They have all those rights and more. They have hate crime laws for them. Michael Sam was treated way better than Tim Tebow
May 30, 201412 yr Author They have all those rights and more. They have hate crime laws for them. Michael Sam was treated way better than Tim Tebow They don't have those thoughts, and Republicans bashed Michael Sam via twitter and other major social media outlets.
May 30, 201412 yr They have all those rights and more. They have hate crime laws for them. Michael Sam was treated way better than Tim Tebow Tim Tebow=1st round draft pick, number 1 in jersey sales, elevated to rock star status because of his beliefs, despite the fact that he wasn't very good. People are still clamoring for him to be an NFL starter. The coverage, attention and fame that he got and still has was based more on his strong Christian beliefs, not his ability to play football. And even today, he gets an opportunity to be a college football analyst, probably more because of his popularity. No way Tebow was ever treated poorly or hindered because of him being a strong Christian. And Tebow was not the first openly Christian football player. Kurt Warner and Reggie White (and even organized prayer after games) come to mind as well respected, HOF players with strong beliefs that weren't afraid to show it. You can't watch an interview without athletes thanking God. Being a Christian, is not, and never will be something that gets you unfair treatment in the NFL. The jury is still out on Michael Sam. Yes he got a ton of media attention after being drafted, probably more than any other 7th round pick in the history of the league. And while much of was positive, there was and still is a lot of negative attention as well. It wasn't all sunshine and roses. And if he can't play, he, just like Tebow, will not be in the league very long.
May 30, 201412 yr 1. Their right to get married 2. Their right to thousands of benefits 3. Their right to be treated as human beings 1. Seems they're getting those rights these days, which I now nor ever had a problem with. I just don't want to see a religion forced to allow gay marriage if it's against their religion. You also make the mistake of thinking that only those on the right side of the aisle are anti-gay. There are plenty of people out there that are democrats that don't like or want anything to do with the gay lifestyle. I'm not talking about politics here. 2. I've been saying for years that, at the very least, they should be afforded the same benefits as married couples, so no argument there. 3. People suck. There are people in this country from all walks of like that get treated badly. Hell, look at how fat people get treated. People will always treat those that are different as if they're something less than they are. Sad, but it's true.
