Hard to argue with that staff from Dixie. Wow.

I think Coach Meyerhoff actually called it the "Worth" pitch. But, Football, Worth or what I really look at it as is Slurve. The slower the velocity the more loop to the pitch. The harder the thrower the sharper the break. As far as strain it's not a pronation pitch i.e. Fastball, Sinker or Change. Dunn throws the same pitch. Some scouts have thought curve and others slider. IMO, this is a mix of the two, Slurve.

It's because of the grip. He holds it like a football. Several of Meyerhoff's former players have learned it. Great pitch, reduces strain from the curveball. If you know how to throw it, and Seiter does, it is very, very effective.

I would have to say Dixie has the deepest staff hands down.

Couldn't agree more. I have been saying that since the start of the season.

Tristen Marcum at Simon Kenton also has been throwing this pitch well for many years.

Throwingcurves.....I can't believe I'd forgot him! I remember Marcum and Dunn throwing that pitch when they played together.

Returners:

Mitch Anderson, Adam Daria*, Henry Kerns, Nick King, Nick Niehaus, Griffin Smallwood*, Matt Wehrle (* pitched sparingly last year).

Somebody else will need to fill in the new guys.

Daria hasn't pitched this year to my knowledge.

Jon Breeden and Chris Reudebusch have also been used off the bump this year.

Who has the deepest staff? I know Highlands, Cooper, Boone, Beechwood and CovCath have all been mentioned as really really good staffs. How deep does Boone's staff go?

Boone has ace Ganns, followed by Purnell, and maybe Roedersheimer as 3?? With work schedule and rainouts havent been to get to many games lately, but sounds may be getting thin in pitching in Florence. Heard Huff had surgery this week. Can some one confirm or dispute this??

Meyerhoff calls it "Worth ball".... couple of his JV pitchers @Boone use it very effectively

Coach Huff has had to juggle some players around this year due to some injuries. He has done a fantastic job with this group and definitely maximizes everyone to their full potential. Agree with Ganns, Purnell and Roedersheimer. I would also throw in Johnson who has pitched really well also. I'm not sure how far this group will go but hats off to Coach Huff and his staff for doing a great job!

I know that they aren't in NKY, but I would like to mention the great year that the Collins pitching staff is having. They are 17-3 giving up just 2.25 runs per game with 7 shutouts. Two different pitchers have thrown 7 inning no-hitters as well (Zac Wiley vs. Shelby County and Paul Miller vs. Forest Park, IN). Even though they lost 4 of their top 5 pitchers from last year's team that went 33-7, their pitching staff is having another great year.
