Things We Will Hear Calipari Say Repeatedly

Featured Replies

Coach Cal always has a few coin phrases that he seems to have on repeat throughout a season. What will we continually hear?

I'm going to go ahead and put this one out there now. He will continually say a version of the following when he gets asked about playing time for different guys:

"NBA scouts and GMs aren't looking at your total stats. They want to look at how productive your minutes are. So they look at how many points (inserts rebounds, blocks assists) per minute you have instead of per game".

What else do you have?

I'm sure he will reference Anthony Davis & MKG & how they were 4th & 5th on the team in shots, then went #1 & #2 overall.

If Daniel Orton left on better terms, Cal might use him as an example, too.

Orton only averaged 13.2 minutes per game: 3.4 points & 3.3 rebounds per game. He was selected 29th overall.

It's a process.

These are 18 and 19 year old kids.

He'll preach Servant Leadership even more this year too, as he should.
