Cole Mosier (Walton Verona/UK) Update

Featured Replies

If you are talking about Sheehan he quit two weeks ago.

Dad told me he is going to G-Town next year.

Here is my question. Great that this kid is working hard and earning his way into playing time. Why was he not given a scholly in the first place? Seems to be a continual cycle at Kentucky. Walk-ons work there way into playing time and scholly kids cannot get on the field. Maybe UK needs to set their priorities on a kids abilities by actually watching him compete rather than how tall and/or fast the kid is and they might win some games.

If I were guessing, with in-state aid and some kid's families' financial situation, it is often just as easy for the staff to let them put together a package this way and give the scholarship to an out of state kid who wouldn't get that same kind of aid. This would especially seem to be true for a kid who doesn't have any offers near the your level (i.e., it seems like UK was the only "big school" that offered Mosier). Why not let him do the walk-on thing as a tryout and if he shows his worth you give him a scholarship later or when one opens?

That's just a hunch.

Isolated on Moser for three plays and he blocked very well. Good feet and played till the end of the whistle, which you are supposed to do.

Mossier was a steal for UK. He may be the only bright spot out of the OLine 2's

Jack G was not deserving of a scholarship in the SEC coming out of high school. He is to be commended for his work and improvement.

I hope Ozzy gets there. I hope Cam Fogle gets there. There are only so many schollies. Very rarely do we see walk-ons move into much, if any, playing time.

I agree on Jack. He has worked his butt off to overcome his foot issues in high school to make the two deep. I was just mentioning the guys that walked on and have a chance to see the 2 deep

Really? I thought that he got positive reviews last year.

I believe he was a steal but thought the middle of the 2 line played well. The 2 tackles had a rough night with Smith, Dupree and Hatcher. Dupree did not play much.

Also add in Cameron Fogle. A walk on that has a good chance to get some reps at WR (Slot)
