Brown says walk-on OL Cole Mosier is in the two-deep and "will play for us" at some point in his career. Staff really likes him.

Good to hear.

Here is my question. Great that this kid is working hard and earning his way into playing time. Why was he not given a scholly in the first place? Seems to be a continual cycle at Kentucky. Walk-ons work there way into playing time and scholly kids cannot get on the field. Maybe UK needs to set their priorities on a kids abilities by actually watching him compete rather than how tall and/or fast the kid is and they might win some games.

What walk-ons from KY have worked their way into PT under this staff?

He is a bit of a wild card due to his injuries in high school was not able to attend any camp or combines till the summer of his junior year going into senior season. He played at a small school that had only played varsity football for 5 years. Really fell under the radar for most big schools. He had offers from smaller schools but wanted to play the against the best.

I saw Cole at practice Weds and spoke to him for a bit. Cole is a mountain of a man. Watched him working out in the football drills, man he has really light feet and Coach Schlarman loves him. Very nice to see a player you have seen play, for awhile, go somewhere and make the most of the opportunity that he has earned, thus far.

Kind of tough to answer since this is year 2. However, to go to JOAT's rant against the past regime, Jack G is in the 2-deep. Ozzy looks like he may get there, and now Mosier.

Was not just talking about this staff. This problem has gone on for years in Lexington. This is just another example.

Jack G was not deserving of a scholarship in the SEC coming out of high school. He is to be commended for his work and improvement.

I hope Ozzy gets there. I hope Cam Fogle gets there. There are only so many schollies. Very rarely do we see walk-ons move into much, if any, playing time.

I can't think of any walk-ons who ended up getting a lot of PT. Who am I forgetting?

Without going back and spending a lot of time this, 2 I can remember are Jerry Klein from Lloyd and John Shannon from Boone County. Heck Shannon even saw some time in the NFL

If you are talking about Sheehan he quit two weeks ago.

Very good performance by Cole Mosier in the Spring game. So much for One for One's comment a year ago he would never see the field.
