And I believe in my prior post I stated that the rough play was on both ends.

If I'm not mistaken if Blair was rolling on top of the player while calling the timeout it is not a travel because technically, he is not touching the floor...Therefore, a travel cannot be called...

Correct as long as he did not have a pivot foot/body part on the floor first and then roll over the player. Once the pivot foot/body part come off the floor it is a walk, if I am correct. If not, please clarify.

Once he broke contact with the floor it is like he is airborne...As long as he gets rid of the ball, or in this case calls timeout, before another part of his body touches the floor I believe it is not a travel...I will double check on that...

Statmaster, I agree with you on the intentional foul. I didn't see it, but there wasn't to much going on, because nobody really reacted. There was alot of pushing and shoving on both ends for a ticky tack intentional foul to be called. Let them play. I'm sure jerseys were being held all night. Why call it then? Tell them to let go like they do when someone gets killed on a post up and they tel them to take it easy.

Russell needs to learn how to play with the same intensity that Raceland had tonight. Going through the motions because you have a more talented team will bring a quick end to the season. Since Clark's departure from the team, Russell has shown a lack of toughness. The Red Devils need to get a little bit of a mean streak or it will be a quick exit from the postseason.

 

As for the rough play and inconsistant officiating it went both ways. Some plays resembled a rugby match instead of a basketball game, with no fouls called. At other times fouls were called when there appeared to be very little contact. I don't believe either team gained an advantage because of the officiating.

It is a travel to roll with the ball but the time-out was called before the roll. So says the men in stripes. I don't have a dog in the fight either but if I did I would still call'em as I see them.

The travel would not occur until he hits the floor, in this case. If the player calls a time-out between his pivot being lifted and hitting the floor, the time-out will be granted.

What section of the rule book is that in. I would like to look that up.
