SK will sweep district again. They return the best running back and receiver.

I'll start first in predicting the winner as Simon Kenton again. They've got it going on in independence still and UKfan is in his seat back in the bleachers enjoying his new Pioneers grow.

 

I'll take Dixie with senior Drew Moore leading the way for them. They could definitely beat the Pioneers! I think they go as far as their senior class takes them leadership wise and from a mission to win the big games

 

Third I'll run with the Rebels at Boone County, Jeff Griffith enters his second season and with a full system implemented and a winter offseason under their belt I expect them to shine. Using Bowling Greens system will work with a QB that is capable for the job and I think they have it in Lamb or Westhoff.

 

Fourth I'll take Campbell County. Honestly Campbell could finish anywhere 1-4 IMO because Coach Lickert knows what he is doing and the way he runs his program is top shelf. I could definitely see them surprising some people

 

Fifth is the Raiders at Ryle with new coach Michael Engler, I feel as if Engler will run in to the same problems the new regime at Boone ran in to in their first year.... No quarterback production. However with the talent on the freshmen teams from back to back years there is no doubting that they are fully capable of making a run.

Way too many variables come in to play entering this fall with all teams involved. I don't think anyone runs away with the district title and predict a slobber-knocker season.

No SK has big line and a great defense also. SK will be ready to win district 2 years in a row. If Dixie, Campbell, Boone or Ryle want it they have to beat SK to get it!

From various posts it sounds like Dixie has the most returning from last year so I'm probably leaning toward them until the rest of the district gets playing and we can see what their new guys can do. If posts are accurate Dixie returns 9 starters on D, one of the top QB's in NKY and a D1 tight end. Pretty solid start.

And SK will need to win to maintain a skewed, undying love for the Pioneer program. After last seasons battles between Dixie and SK from a Dixie standpoint, The Colonels will have plenty of motivation to overcome the Pioneers plans.

 

I look to either Campbell County, Boone, or Ryle to sneak in the back door and catch a unprepared team off guard with a district loss/es. It is truly wide open and each program knows the others achilles heel. As always the team that adapts and overcomes more effectively and avoids turnovers wins.

 

As stated earlier, any given Friday, and it is going to be fun to watch! In other news it appears this may be Dixies last romp through NKY 6A in 2014. So again not much more motivation needed. Talk to your AD and HC, sk1fan and join Dixie in playing Highlands and Covcath in 2015. Lets get common opponents out of the fray and meet folks face-to-face.

 

If SK is as good as claimed it will help them against the Scott Counties and Louisville representatives in the upcoming roads to state titles the Pioneers will strive for. I've gotten the impression from your previous responses SK is a no brainer to make a clean sweep and win the district untested. The same approach didn't serve them well last season then. Speed does kill and you may want to consider playing more teams with speed during the regular season.

 

The birds and blue colonels would help fill that need. Just a thought and looking forward to a very entertaining NKY 6A season this fall!
