Who? Is he someone of importance? Never heard of him? Did he play in the 60's before I started watching football?

It does, just don't see the point in a cold rivalry and rather see both teams do well. Neither is a threat to each other.

The fact that you can somehow get Cincinnati Rockers into a post and it actually apply is impressive.

What did I do? UK fans getting a chance to flame OSU, wow a shock on this board. You don't think Marrow would have heavily recruited Small?

 

Ray Small is a loser, that's why he was on and off the team. He's also from the same school that Marcelys Jones and Erik Smith are from, the one Marrow was at begging them to go to UK 5 months ago.

 

 

Not really fair to the other kids to paint them as convicts just because they went to the same high school/grew up in the same area as one though. I'd say that about anyone's school or team. I know some areas are more predisposed to certain types of crime statistics than others, but it's still unfair to judge someone as guilty by association. Ray Solomonoff also went to Glenville, and he seemed to turn out alright.

 

 

I'm far from an Ohio State supporter, but I think that guys like Orlando Pace, Aaron Craft, and Cris Carter are nice representatives of the university's athletic programs and respect both their talent and what they've done to make a difference beyond that.

 

 

I don't take pleasure in seeing anyone arrested because it basically either means that: a.) they've done something deserving of being arrested, which is a drain on society as a whole, or b.) have been unfairly arrested and had their civil rights violated. Not really a "winner" in either of those situations, though I do think that there are people who do deserve to be arrested, locked up, and in very extreme cases, even sentenced to death.

 

Not trying to defend the kids being recruited by UK if they have been proven to be straight goons, but it's somewhat unfair to assume otherwise based on where they are from (and I think you know me well enough to know that I'd say that regardless of the team they played for).

He comes from a bad area, and I believe the Cats are now recruiting that area.

 

Hopefully they can find some good kids from there, that can stay out of trouble in school and after they graduate.

 

 

Lots of good athletes, students, and just people in general come from bad areas.

Welcome to BGP college football threads. The UK and UL people hate OSU more than each other in football lol. Jealousy is a mental cancer.

 

I don't think people hate OSU as much as it's being let on.

 

People in the Commonwealth care most about basketball. People in Ohio care most about football.

 

There are good natured rivalries, like those I have with some members of my family who are life long Ohioans. I will be honest though, Ohio State has a segment of their fan base that irks me as only a border state rival's fans can.

 

Let's face it, people in Kentucky mostly look at football with excitement during the Fall while nothing else is going on, but toward the end of the year, fans are gearing up for Midnight Madness. On the same token, people in Ohio see the end of basketball season as a sign that Spring Football is about to begin and no one is really into basketball as long as football is going on.

 

Both schools have a lot of history, tradition, and symbols that are readily identifiable by even casual fans of their sport (i.e., the Buckeye sticker on helmets, the Horseshoe, dotting the i; Rupp Arena, 8 National Titles, the celebrity "Y"). That's just how it is. Lots of things would have to change if UK were to become a football school or Ohio State a basketball school.
