Former St. Xavier legendary coach is getting back to the basis after he accepted an assistant coaching spot on the St. Agnes/St. Francis Saints 5th/6th grade football team. He is a long time parishioner at the church and has had hundreds of former players for St. X come from that program. Great thing for the ole ball coach to do and for the school to get him involved! Good luck Coach Glaser! That is going to be one really well conditioned 6th grade football team!

Wait until those St. Agnes parents calmly discuss their son's playing time with "The Legend".

He is an assistant so he can tell those parents to talk to head coach. :lol2:

Could be a sign of things to come, understand he still very interested in coaching and has been contacted by a couple different schools regarding a return to the side lines. Hard to get that coaching bug out of your blood, when you have done it for as long as he has.

Did he move down because high school was just to much on him after so long?

I think this is just something for him to do and have fun with. He has always loved the game it appeared for just the game aspect of it. The game has changed and yes that was one thing that seemed to hold back the last few teams of his. Other teams... Trinity... changed their style and it worked and St. X stayed the same with a different effect.

Don't think that Glaser is done with the high school level, but who knows!

Coaching CSAA will still be VERY influential on the high school football scene. Who the heck better to teach these youngsters the fundamentals? I've always contended that a never talked about, yet significant, factor on the success of private high schools is the CSAA league, the fact that kids start playing when they're in 3rd grade, there is no "cuts", and are coached by some great, great, unhearalded coaches.
