nWo
I forgot to add that if the freezing rain last longer this could make the snow fall totals lower.

nWo
I finally figured out how to post a snowfall forecast map. Also one for freezing rain. I had to switch them from google maps to gif. Morning update .01-.10" freezing rain/ice most of Kentucky from Bowling Green up to Louisville over to Flemingsburg to Olive Hill down to Paintsville to Williamson and Pikeville. Then back towards Williamsburg back to Bowling Green. .10-.25 There seems to be a pocket forming of this amount. Northern boarder from Campbellsville towards Lebanon to Harrodsburg over to Richmond to just south of Pikeville. Then back towards the west towards Campbellsville. The cities on the southern boarder of this pocket are Hazard, Manchester, London, Somerset and Nancy The storm system seems to have shifted to the east. That is a good sign for less snow. 1-2" area It looks like now there is going to be a sharp cut off as to where the accumulating snow will fall. It starts around Jeffersontown and goes towards the north and southeast. the northern boarder includes the following cities: La Grange, Walton, to just south of Alexandria. the southern boarder includes: Springfield, Standford, Berea, Prestonsburg, Williamson 2-4" snow starts around Frankfort and also goes north and southeast Northern boarder: Williamstown, Georgetown, Waverly, Southern boarder: Lexington, Winchester, Hagerhill 4-6" Beginning point around the Emerson/Olive Hill area and the same directions as the areas above. Northern boarder cities: Northeasterly direction towards Porthsmith, Ohio. Southern boarder: Southeasterly direction towards Louisa. nWo
The only thing I don't like about these maps is I can't zoom in to see what towns and cities are affected. That is how I determined what cities fall into what snowfall area. 24 hour snowfall probability map
JDEaston
Light wintery mix here in Ashland since noon. Temperature is already down to 32 degrees, which is 5-7 degrees cooler than what the local weatherman had forecasted for this time of day.
Content1
The protective bubble will not allow any accumulation within the 275 loop in NKY. Beyond that you're sol… All joking aside everyone be safe. Ol Coot Winter is still hanging on, but not by much. Thursday is the official start of spring. In other news baseball fields were dry enough yesterday for knothole games to be played at the Bellevue Vets, the fields off of 71 just south of Columbus were hosting games as well. Always a welcome sign of spring and warmer temps!
JDEaston
30 degrees and snowing in Ashland now.. I'm not a meteorologist, but with the changeover to snow coming muchearlier than expected I could see the Ashland area getting 6-8 inches.
