Villa Hills suspends police chief

Featured Replies

All charges have been dropped in exchange for the chief retiring effective immediately. Details will be released once they are put in the appropriate format.

Personally I believe it's a load of crud. The mayor was able to get his way and force the chief out. The mayor is the one who needs to be forced out.

I'm wondering what kind of clause is in the settlement to prevent a lawsuit which is deserved in this case.

Like it or not Mayors outrank Police Chiefs.

True, in a power play a Police Chief will seldom win.

In reading the auditors report the Chief was ultimately responsible for the incorrect pay being approved. If the numbers are correct that $400,000 would certainly be cause for dismissal in any business I've ever been associated with. It's sad that he gave the Mayor the ammunition to use as it sure sounds like the Mayor was the one who really needed to go.

This mayor is the perfect example on why people in general don't like politics. He committed crimes and got away with it and then was able to get the officer fired who dared arrest him for committing the crime. I'm sorry every resident of Villa Hills should be embarrassed. You are now the laughing stock of NKY.

The citizens cleaned house with city council last election and I suspect the mayor will be next. There was definitely a "good old boy" network in place and the citizens got tired of it, thus, voting Martin in as Mayor. His antics have been over the top, but the city wasn't being run effectively pre-Martin either. It will be interesting to see who steps up to run. Hopefully whomever gets elected will truly do what is best for the entire city, not just a small faction of cronies.
