Looks like Hoptown will be a tremendous, if not insurmountable, challenge for any team they face.

From what I understand there are legit questions about the advice Haworth gave majors. No sense in discussing details.

I think there are legit questions about the development of matlock. He's the same player he was as a freshman. Stuck under the basket ... Haworth has done a nice job. But folks are noticing things. He's for a tough comparison with the guys UHA sent on and the most recent group that won a title at Christian county.

That's unfortunate. In this day and age I think high school head coaches should not shoulder the blame for a kid's offers or college placement. There is so much self promotion and with the explosion of AAU it's almost hard to not get noticed anymore. More often than not it seems that college coaches and recruiters are closer to AAU coaches and programs than high school coaches.

Gotcha.

Hindsight is always 20/20. I'm sure whatever advice he gave is advice he gave with the best of intentions. I hope things work out in the future for all involved.

Matlock is a very good high school player but his lack of an outside jumper makes him just that. They been thinking his a D1 player since his freshmen year but his undersize to play at a big time college. Not to many 6-4 forwards in D1 ball.

Exactly right. And the folks around Hoptown blame haworth for not letting Matlock work more on the perimeter, especially in early games this year and last year. Much like Calipari let patterson work from the outside. In crunch time, no doubt, put him under the basket. But from a development standpoint, he's done him a disservice.

Would love to see them and Wayne County make it to the Finals. It would be a real track meet. The last time Wayne County played someone this season who wanted to run the whole game the final score was 115-103 (the score was 60-59 at halftime).

Good luck to Hop-town.
