For three quarters, yes. Then Shelby had a hard time with her in the 4th quarter and OT. Shelby's size was hard for GC obviously. Gallatin has nobody taller than 5 ft7, Shelby has four 6 footers on the court at times.

Like Gallatin, SK has a lot of team speed as well as deep bench. SK has bigs that run the floor very well, but are vulnerable to foul trouble in general. SK defends one on one for the most part and has the quickness to guard effectively beyond the 3 point line..

As of last night, the semi's are at 3pm and 5pm on Saturday. Championship game - Sunday at 3pm

3 pm on Saturday for the semi is correct. Not sure about Sunday, I thought I heard 5pm.

According to KHSAA website, semis are 3 and 5. Finals will be Sunday at 5.

Pretty even matchup, Shelby won on a last second shot during the regular season. Either team could've won this one.

Asbury head coach Bart Flener was there.

Shelby County will be good next year; they only lose Nikki Simmons to graduation. They certainly do have a ton of size.

 

Sophomore Justus Martin joined the 1000 point club at Shelby County with her 23 points last night. She has been playing varsity since 7th grade. Junior Mackenzie Raizor is also nearing 1000 points for her career.

Although, the two teams are totally different in size, personnel, and style of play. But yes, pretty even matchup due to the differences in each teams weakness and strengths. Shelby defeated GC 56-53 in OT back in December. Congrats to the Rockets on a great season, the best season they have had since the Collins/Shelby split about 4 years ago.
