March 1, 201412 yr Author I just looked over the afternoon run. The ice amounts are going back up. Wide spread .25-.50" Most of it should fall by late night Sunday. This includes Louisville, Lexington, Bowling Green. The change over to snow should occur around 1 am or so. NKY 6-8+". Around the Maysville area will be the higher amounts. CKY is looking at 4-6". This includes Louisville, Frankfort, Lexington, Richmond Winchester. 2-4" south of that area. Extreme SEKY may see a dusting to 1". I'll take a closer look and post more later.

March 1, 201412 yr Author From the NWS-Louisville website Impacts/How to Prepare • Widespread impacts will occur, with potential for substantial tree damage and downed power lines • Road conditions will be treacherous with some roads impassable possibly into Tuesday – Have an emergency kit of blankets, food, water, and flashlights if you must travel • Power outages are likely, possibly widespread – Store a good supply of dry, seasoned wood for your fireplace or wood-burning stove – Have adequate clothing and blankets to keep you warm – Make sure not to use generators inside
March 1, 201412 yr Here's what's so odd. It feels great out right now: 51 and sunny in NKY. Even opened the house up for 15 minutes to funnel some fresh air in after our family fought the the local stomach crud the last couple days. The white death is coming…..LOL. I have to attempt to have a sense of humor about this. Went to the grocery store to pick up pork chops for dinner tonight and the lines are ridiculous. I can see folks who live out in the country stocking up for supplies for a week but when I see city folks stocking up as if they were going to be trapped for 2 weeks. I gotta chuckle . I'm really, really hoping we don't see power outages due to heavy ice accums out of this!!! What sort of plans if any do you all make to prep for a big storm?

Holy poop nWo. This is going to be a "doozy" as my Grandmother used to say!

I have a kerosene heater. bottled water and my wife is preparing some MRE's I told her next year a portable generator is a must on our EAP list.

March 2, 201412 yr Author Snow total update NKY- Louisville,Henderson, Bowling Green 4-6" WKY-SCKY 2-4" There is an area starting around Nicholasville Border on the north by Versailles, Cynthiana Maysville and on the south by Richmond,Irvine and Paintsville may see 6-8". I should get a real could handle on the totals tomorrow morning. Don't forget we may see winds around 30 mph Sunday night into the day on Monday.
