March 12, 201412 yr I haven't seen or heard my local pack lately in Frankfort. I asked my next door neighbor who raises cattle if he has every had a problem with them. Not a single problem in 35 years.

We had cows when I was growing up and lots of coyotes. Never much trouble with them. Coyotes just aren't big enough. I've seen whitetail fend off 3 at a time.

Coyotes just aren't big enough. I've seen whitetail fend off 3 at a time. I suspect they are around at times eyeing my smaller dog, but they don't seem to be interested in my larger Labs. I don't chance it and stay out while they do their business at night, and I think the Coyotes stay a healthy distance from humans. If I had chickens or small animails, I would assure I have a proper fencing and/or containment.

If I had chickens or small animails, I would assure I have a proper fencing and/or containment. I definitely wouldn't let your small dog out by itself. The lab I wouldn't worry about. Lab's are big and tough enough that a coyote or 3 should know better then to there. As for people, coyotes are skittish as hell. I had one pick me off in my deer stand back in Dec, he couldn't get out there fast enough.
April 7, 201412 yr I have seen a couple of lone Coyotes on my property the last couple of weeks. One big guy came sauntering up the path from the fields within about 120 feet of the house one morning. He was at least 50 to 60 pounds, I would guess. I was surprised at his size. He didn't visit long enough for me to get my camera.
