Holmes is overrated IMO. Great potential but should beat Harrison by 20+

 

I don't know about overrated, but they definetly aren't playing well right now.

 

Luckily for Coach Booher, he has 4 games scheduled this week to try to get them back at the level they were at when they started the season 9-0, before district play starts next week.

Bulldogs are not overated, but I do know why Chames sat out last week"Academics" . And Bolden and Chames showing up late or leaving JV game and returning late to games.

Holmes seems to be in a little bit of a funk here lately and it seems that their poor execution against zone defense is partly a culprit. They were faring just fine against NCC, until the Breds went zone and it was all downhill after that.

McClendon had been shooting it fairly well through the middle part of the year but now has not shot it real well as of late.

Harrison County packed a 2-3 zone in tonight and Holmes shot pretty poorly except for their late run in the third quarter.

It will be interesting to see how they play the rest of the week in games they should be favored to win and if those teams play zone.

Agreed on HC having talent. They have good size and some athletes. They put on a show in warm ups. Nice length too with 6'4 plus at all three front court positions.

This is an excellent point. When was the last time any team -- at least any local team -- didn't resort to a zone against Holmes for large portions of a game? You'd like to think the Bulldogs have some strategy in mind other than "let's shoot our way out of it."

Something just isn't right in Bulldog land. They should beat a solid HC team by 15-20. Kudos to HC for taking it to them for most of the game.
