And how many man-hours of Congressional employees were spent drafting and printing this? Aren't Republicans usually the ones screaming about government waste?

 

That's great, he's making his point. So draft a bill to get the federal government out of mandating calorie counts on school lunches. I'm on board with that. What did this do except take a shot at the White House because he felt like he could? This is a small-scale move like the people who want to oppose militarism by submitting proposals to reinstate the draft.

 

Want to make a statement? Talk to the press. I want my Congress drafting bills that people can actually vote on.

Well I have no problem with congress addressing this issue and I will tell you why.

 

When Michelle Obama's whole school lunch thing was started, the idea was to have our kids eating healthier but the problem is that a good number of them are now no longer getting the required nutrition from school lunches because a large number of kids are no longer eating their lunches because they are not good at all. so what was worse? Eating school lunches that may have had too many calories or not getting any calories at lunch because they refuse to eat the garbage being served? So if Congress can rectify this then I am all for it.

I don't think I ate lunch one time in the cafeteria while I was in high school. Gotta love off campus lunch! Michelle Obama would not have been happy with me back then. Sometimes my lunch consisted of a Snickers bar, a bag of Doritos and a cold Mountain Dew! Take that, woman! :banana:

They're not addressing the issue. This is the opposite of addressing the issue. This guy put on a show and took a pot-shot at the White House. Nobody can sign this bill; it would be embarrassing. This is what I'm talking about; he's not trying to fix anything, he's trying to put on more of the political dog-and-pony show.

 

This bill is ludicrous.
