If snow/ice/heavy rain/or earthquake don't cancel yet another basketball game this game happens in Park Hills tonight. These teams, no matter the record, always serve up a battle. It's usually close and exciting. Last year's on HC's turf was a nailbiter. What say you?

I know HC is playing well, but I give the advantage to ND in this one. Just think their depth is a little better, ND is not at a big of a size disadvantage as other teams that play HC, ND is more physical and I think they pass the ball very well. I just think they have the tools to neutralize what makes HC good and ND has more athletes overall. Neither team lights it up from outside.

 

I would never bet against HC though because you never know what kind of effect the twins are going to have on you until you play them. With the physical play of ND and their length, it will be key for the twins to stay out of foul trouble. If either one get into foul trouble, I think ND wins easily. If they do stay out of foul trouble, I think this is a great game that goes to the wire becaue HC slows down just about anyone they play. So I don't see a blowout on either side...if fouls don't come into play.

The battle for the number 1 seed. Should be a good one.

Notre Dame could be anywhere from a 1 seed to a 4 seed still. District right now is: 1, Holy Cross 2-0. 2, Beechwood 1-1(listed as 2-1 on KHSAA site, but win over Latin doesn't count as seed win). 3, Holmes 1-2 4, Notre Dame 0-1. 5, Latin (doesn't play district schedule and is automatic 5 seed). A Holy Cross win would clinch 1-seed and then Beechwood and Notre Dame would play for 2 seed. If Notre Dame were to win tonight and beat Beechwood it would be the 1 seed, HC 2, Beechwood 3 and Holmes 4, but if Notre Dame loses tonight and then falls to Beechwood it would be the 4 seed, because Holmes beat the Pandas head to head. Lot at stake, because it could set up Holy Cross-Notre Dame district semifinal.

This has turned into a "power-house" district. :eek:

It will be a most interesting draw for the 9th region tourney this year. Let's remember that this district winner and loser could in theory draw the 36th district winner and loser in the first round. That could be 4 very good teams and only 1 left standing for the final.

 

I still think ND is the best team in the region but I bet I could make one of those Team A beat Team B who beat Team C and come up with just about any team winning the region.

Why would anyone care if the team is wearing cancer awareness uniforms? Senior night activities always follow the pattern you describe.

Seriously? Panther15? It was Senior Night. The girls chose to wear the pink uniforms. They like them and they bring awareness to a disease that has touched nearly all of them. The cheering section also chose to wear pink. The coaches did, too. And to complain about Senior Night? Do you know how many Senior Nights these girls, coaches, players and fans have sat through without complaint? On a positive note from a truly positive night... the best part came when the NDA seniors presented the senior players from Holy Cross with flowers which is a Notre Dame tradition.

Warmups happened. The game was played. And it was a really good game and fun to watch.
