April 12, 201412 yr One of the greatest songs you've never listen too, from one of the greatest super groups you've never heard of!!! Excluding Far beyond driven and B-Ball Fan... [video=youtube_share;CQ7Ka7lZkdw]http://youtu.be/CQ7Ka7lZkdw This brings to mind, from that dude's gravely voice, a band that I happened upon years ago by accident in a cut-out bin all because their album cover had the top half on the face of Christ on it from the same picture that was in my house growing up. Their name was "Mother Tongue" and I think from L.A. , and instantly pretty much the whole 1994 disc bent my ear. I never heard any hype about them, and pretty much thought that they came and went. Just now while looking for some tunes from that one release, I came to realize that over the years there's been a few more releases. It's not surprising that there's a fan base out there for them somewhere considering how hot their sound is. When they came out they weren't following or leading any trends, so that's probably why they didn't get much notice. They might've been a bit effected by a Chili Pepper look of sorts. They did however have definite 70's hard vibe influences with wah-wah's here and there, but fresh and timeless all at once. I couldn't get anyone to bother listening since nobody had ever heard of them before. That seems to be important to some. I always dug turning over a rock and finding a diamond. Didn't ever matter to me if a band was well known or not. If they turned me on, they turned me on.
April 12, 201412 yr This was the first track on the disc named "Broken", and from it, it should be easy to see what made me want to keep playing the CD. Lots of tasty nuggets of cool and groovy jam throughout.
April 12, 201412 yr Just to bring this close to home: Highlands Grad Chris Schleyer from Ft. Thomas, Ky was once in a Norwegian Industrial band name Zeromancer during their inception in the early 2000's. He also caught the attention of Trent Reznor who produced Chris' other Industrial band that I can't name here, but it's five letters and starts with a "P" and ends with a "K", and a man has one, but a woman does not. Chris was also temporarily in the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Chris has also been a guitar tech for: Green Day Back Street Boys New Kids On The Block Puscifer Tool Nine Inch Nails A Perfect Circle Katy Perry I do not know him personally but was made aware of him by a super close guitarist friend of mine locally who has jammed with Chris in the past. Here's a couple of Zeromancer tunes from the early 2000's when Chris was their guitarists. You have to look quick in the videos for him 'cause they tend to focus on the vocalists.
April 12, 201412 yr One of a kind 90's band "Cop Shoot Cop" with the classic "Any Day Now". There was never a band like them before, and there's not been one since. [video=youtube;1RbnshwWL-A]
