Yes he has been there. I think the big complaint in 2012 was that when it really counted, the defense was horrible. Then again, the same could be said for any season that Richt has coached. Only thing that has saved Richt and company is that they have a good bowl record so the season ends on a high note.

 

Yeah, it's a nice little arrangement for the SEC: they have all these New Year's Day games set up against a usually middling opponent from the B1G that they can manhandle and look good at the end of the year. Good setup if you can get it.

I can't say they've had "lasting and excellent NFL careers." I was just thinking about Okoye the other day. Used to love that guy. What is he now, 22 years old? I really thought he would be in the league for 10-13 years.

See, it pays to finish as the 4rd or 5th best team in the SEC. Being paired against the #2 or #3 Big 10 opponent is a nice gift

Had a great start in his first year but never seemed to find it again. Can't catch on with a team now and I think was out of the league completely in 2013.

I didn't include Patrick because I think all of his playing career was under Kragthorpe, though he was a Petrino recruit.

I can agree with that. I just mentioned them because they had really good careers at UofL.
