January 12, 201412 yr Why can't you see them paying serious money to Collins? Collins has more than proven himself that he is a starting tackle in the league and can play right or left tackle. Which he didn't allow one sack this year and the line was better with Whit at guard. Don't assume just because you draft a tackle in the first round that they will be good. There has been plenty of first round tackles who ended up not playing well at all. Michael Oher is one of them and probably is going to be released by the Ravens they are saying. Collins is a guy who knows the offense and has shown he is a starter in the league and the Bengals have the cap space to pay him. Makes much more sense to sign him back than drafting a tackle with their first pick. Bengals are going to need a better offensive line to run the ball as much as Hue wants. I don't see Collins as anything more than a capable backup. If Whitworth stays at left guard next year, the Bengals need to aggressively pursue a starting left tackle. I really think they'll go in that direction in the draft.
January 15, 201412 yr Besides Green and Jones which receivers would you rank ahead of him to put him at the end of the food chain? Sanu has potential but hasn't completely shown it yet. Hawkins and Saz. are similar but Hawkins can do the same things as him but also the potential to break the big play. So unless Hawkins price tag is high, which I don't see his price tag being that high at all. Then I think they definitely should bring him back. However if his price tag is high then I agree. Sanu

Hawk is a "nice to have type" of player not a "need to have". He only plays one receiver position. They are getting the ball to Bernard now to fit the role Hawk had. I love the guy, but he will probably get over paid on the open market. But if price is right bring him back.
